I'd hate to give Margacheato the opportunity for another payday, but Cotto avenging his loss to the cheater would rate highly in my book.

That's how I feel too, I want REVENGE but I don't want Cheato to use Cotto's name to make money and it's still a dangerous fight honestly. Cheato is a full blown Junior Middle compared to a stocky welter in Cotto.

His battles to make 140 were well-publicized. He looked weight-drained and lacked energy. But 147 is another story. His body is better suited for 147 than 154, mostly because of the height. He may have said at some point he had trouble making 147, but I insist that's his best weight.

2. His heart isn't in it. He's only in it for the money.

3. He couldn't avoid Margacheato's punches, so he'll be a sitting duck for Mayorga's flurries.

Well... I guess that one got put to bed also. He showed movement, avoided some of Mayorga's wild shots, and basically showed some pretty good defense.

4. He's a quitter.

Ironic, isn't it? It was actually Mayorga who said "No mas", for whatever reason it was. Even more ironic. Haters had Mayorga sending Cotto into retirement, and it seems it may be the other way around. Karma is a bitch, isn't it?

In a sense, I give him a pass on his last two fights. He needed to test the waters at 154 with Foreman before going in deeper, fair enough, and Mayorga is a true junior middleweight who brought a big pay day. Fair play there too. So, let's see where he goes next. I'd prefer to see Cotto in with Berto at 154 than Margarito. I'd also prefer Cotto face Kirkland/Angulo/Dzinziruk/Williams etc before Margarito. Any fight now with Cotto is a PPV, so, it's not like he isn't getting paid anyway.

Great fighters challenge themselves consistently. Mayorga and Foreman aren't challenging for someone of Cotto's caliber. Again, I understand the logic of why he took them, and let's see his next fight. However, Kirkland, Angulo, Dzinziruk, Williams etc. those are real challenges for great fighters.

At the end of the day, Cotto looked good last night. Damn straight. It was against an old Mayorga, who wasn't ranked in the top ten of the division at the time of the fight, but Cotto still looked good.

Kirkland, Angulo, Dzinziruk, Berto... would all be good next opponents for Cotto. Williams I've never through so, 'cause of the size (height) difference. It probably wouldn't be a fan-friendly fight. But let's see what happens. There IS the matter of retribution from the beating Cotto took from MargaCHEATO, although I can also say that CHEATO doesn't deserve a single nickel from a big fight, even though unfortunately it already happened with Pacquiao. Let's see where Team Cotto decides to go next.

Cotto looked great and it was a awesome fight. I'd love to see him fight Margarito say what you want about the guy be he is a true warrior just like Cotto and if Cotto is willing to give him that fight who are we to question that?

Cotto answered some question about his boxing skills, which I thnk he looked pretty good defensively. To be honest though Mayorga didnt ask alot of questions about how he can handle constant pressure. Mayorga only fought in spurts, then got totally outclassed when he was in passive mode. Mayorga had a few moments but they were few and far between. I would like to see how Cotto handles the constant pressure of Margarito, I do think he will win this time because he looks like he has gone more into pure boxer mode rather than mixing it up like he used to. If he were to beat Margarito in the rematch he will have answered alot of questions.

however i wonder how much of his training actually goes into losing any excess fat he may be carrying because of all the training videos and clips iv seen it never looks very intense

looks like he does have a very laidback approach to training nothing flashy, he does not throw his best shots whether it' the heavy bag or pads.
