Ok just to clarify something Gipsy Kings are not Mexican nore is their music Mexican.
They are French of Spanish decent and their Genre is considered Flomeco.

Rodrigo Y Gabriela are most def. Mexican and their Genre is Folk Rock/Acoustic.

As for the song JMM came out to I'll tell you but just tought this would be fun to share.
He once came out to California Love by 2Pac many moons ago... lmao.
Anyway he usually uses songs by one of Mexicos if not Mexicos most popular group named Los Tigres del Norte. The one he used was El Gallo de Pelea I believe. If you find a video with the ring entrance post it here and I'll verify that for you. I would have to restore my video from the HD and it would be way too much work just for the title of the song.

As for Mexican music... I mean there's a pretty wide range.
They are not the creators of the genre but more so as in singing the genre in Spanish.
Boleros for example is from Spain & Cuba which is like the Golden Era of Mexican music.
Something like Nate King Cole, Nina Simone etc. etc. but of course Mexican singers.
You also have Rancheras which is possibly known as our more famous traditional music.
Vicente Fernandez being our current most popular singer in this genre.
Then you have things like Pop, Alternative, Rock, Balads, Corridos, Narco Corridos (A real joke really), Quebraditas, Pasito Duranguense, Cumbias, Salsa, Bachata, Punta, Merengue.

Heres a pretty wide range of Mexican/Spanish music to start you off.

IMO, Mexicos greatest spanish 80's rock band ever...
Caifanes - La Celula Que Explota

Argueably Mexicos most popular singer all time the genre is Rancheras.
Vicente Fernandez - Y volver, Volver

Labeled the Prince of Music (Prince as in royalty not the singer...lol)
Great set of lungs on him. This was his debut on what was considered then a talent show he was only 21 at the time. This day is also referred to "The night that it rained roses" once you see the vid you'll see why.) After this performance he became a sensation.
    Jose Jose - El Triste

    Some more current stuff...

    Cafe Tacuba - Eres

Ozomatli - Cumbia De Los Muertos

Paulina Rubio - Todo Mi Amor

I saw Vicente Fernandez at the place in Pico Rivera where they also have, or used to have, rodeos.

    CutMeMick,

Gypsy Kings may be Basque, but every construction sight I've ever worked on with Mexican day laborers rocked them non-stop. And how are you going to leave off Julio from your list just b/c he's Spanish. This cheezy sh!t cracks me up.
