likewise Andre a lot of our places are well modern now and 'wanky' bars. give me the low ceilings and fires anyday.
Was just reading abut how the Ings managed to stay a 100% wet pub - more should give it a go though guess difficult in these times.
Hopefully will one day visit an ozzie pub

That is the "Dixie Chicken" located in College Station, Texas. Bilbo, you won't see cards played there but we do have a game called "42" that is played with dominoes and while there is no piano player there is an aquarium with rattlesnakes in it. No liquor is served there but you can bring in your own bottle. All in all it is a great place to drink a cold beer and relax.

Just beer and sangria, but like I said you can bring in a bottle of bourbon, rum etc.
If you decide you want a shot this place is next door

Ultimately it is up to the owner but it is not uncommon for places that only have a beer license to allow patrons to bring in liquor, but you gotta buy the mixers from them. Pretty common for new restaurants to open before they have a beer or liquor license and will allow you to bring your own booze.
