As an American I will tell you there are VERY FEW sports reporters/writers/pundits that appreciate the Klitschko's reign as top dogs in the heavyweight division. I can only name maybe 2 Dan Rafael and maybe Al Bernstien everyone else has just written them off or tries to discredit them especially guys that should fucking know better like Bert Sugar. This past Sunday the Klitschko's got mentioned on ESPN's 'The Sports Reporters' where Jeremy Schaap joined the congress of idiots that think the brothers should fight each other...granted he did mention that only because they have been so dominant recently, but still it's a grotesque idea.
The heavyweight division isn't dead, but serious work needs to be done in regards to matchmaking. I like fights like Peter-Helenius being made, that's what we need more of! Prospects that want to test themselves and veterans that want another title shot. Guys like Povetkin should have done this YEARS ago. There's enough old veterans out there to build up some prospects and there are some old vets like Sam Peter that can still compete at a relatively high level.
The Klitschko's are great representatives of the sport and I think the majority of coverage they recieve in the US is disrespectful lazy journalism, but hey what's new.
