yep very interesting. Both great fighters who knocked on the door of the elite but came up short when it mattered.
I have to admit I can't decide either way![]()

Hamed much more charismatic and devistating hitter but a one trick pony really. I go Hatton. Both had short comings, just think Hatton had more depth. And he wasn't as big a floppy eared twat as Hamed![]()

Have decided Hatton.
More guts and bottle edges it for me over Hamed's undoubted talent but lack of determination ultimately (still sad when you think about how his career ended isn't it)
but hang on - he hasn't officially retired yet![]()

I go with Hatton. Hatton's biggest win was Tszyu, does Hamed have a win as significant as that? And probably because Hatton took on these 2 generation's all time greats. Hamed didn't fight JMM, Morales, Pac who were in his weight class or within his weight class.

Junior Jones was very good in his prime, he also beat Orlando Canizales who was past his prime but still and impressive win.
Junior Jones's downfall was his chin and lack of motivation, but at his best he could very easily upset Naseem Hamed he had a great jab and a heck of a right hand.
As for the topic there actually both quite similar in a few ways, when they both first went to the USA they both had real problems. Ricky Hatton with Luis Collazo, Naseem Hamed with Kevin Kelley.
Both men never truly recovered from there first loss, although atleast Ricky Hatton had a few decent wins unlike Naseem Hamed.
But its hard to seperate them, Naseem Hamed probably had the slightly better resume. But Ricky Hatton had Kostya Tszyu who was better than anyone on Naseem Hamed's win sheet.
They were both dominant at one weightclasses, but Naseem Hamed made more title defenses and was dominant for a longer period.
And if they fought P4P, i think Naseem Hamed would blast Ricky Hatton out of there.

I'd back a 9 stone Hamed to spark a 10 stone Hatton.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

i dont think hatton got 'found out' at all, its not as if he ever lost to an average boxer and the pac fight was clearly at the end of his carear when the punch resistance had gone
to the debate - hamed had the more tallent, he could have been an all time great but didnt have the dedication, even when his career took off in america he wasnt training properly
hatton probably acheived more (slightly) so id say him, although hamed could have been so much more
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
