Got my brace on

This morning. It's a clear one. It actually makes my open mouth look better. Result.

It feels fucking massive though....like a gumshield.

But yeah, it's pretty painless so far aswell which is a bonus. I'm actually happy with it. The thought of wearing this for 2 years doesn't bother me.

Just thought i'd share it the news. I feel a bit conscious because i'm 25 and i don't see many other 25 year olds knocking about with a brace in, but it's alright. You're never too old.

You should just get them all out, get false teeth, then you can stare at them every night next to the bed.

A girl at my work has them in, she's 28. It is rare to see adults with them, but if ya need them then why not, not like ya at school anymore and getting the piss ripped outta ya is it

Yeah she hasn't seen them. She will on Wednesday. They aren't actually bad anyway. Looks odd when i close my mouth because i haven't got used to them yet. But yeah, they're pretty cool i think.

I'll let you all know. Be surprised if they bother her.

What is it you are using? The invisalign treatment?

I used ceramics as I had more work to do, but the treatment finally finished just a couple of months ago and I am really pleased with the results. I was older than you starting when I was 29, but these days it really isn't uncommon to see adults getting their teeth fixed. The new methods are making people more willing to take the jump. Nobody wants a mouth full of metal, but with invisalign and ceramics, it makes it much easier.

All in all I think it was a great investment. The only drawback is having to wear retainers whilst I sleep, but it a small price to pay really.

I want to get those ones where they take out all of your teeth, then just screw new ones into your jaw bone through your gums... Looks like one hell of a nasty procedure, but what an awesome thing to have a whole mouth full of perfect false teeth that if one gets a big fucked, just screw it out and screw another one in...

Only cost you about $70,000...

Yeah, that's a pretty horrid image. She appears to have half a crane wedged into her mouth!

I had ceramics and unless you were close up you wouldn't even know they were there. White brackets and white wires aren't too bad and the invisalign is ideal for those with minor imperfections to iron out. I see a lot of my university students going for the same thing these days. The mouth full of metal thing should really be a thing of the past by now, there is just no need for it.

I encourage any adult with dental insecurities to at least think about getting it done because it isn't such a big deal anymore. More are doing it and the technology is improving year by year.
