I guess it's probably an offensive term to use in the US since they bombed them, but over here I didn't mean it so.

It was clearly just a light hearted saturday night quip, don't know why you get so arsy sometimes I'm guessing you're sitting with a dozen bottles of Newcastle brown ale around your feet so I'll put your irritation down to drunkeness.

It's pretty much impossible to get drunk of Newcastle, but as far as shitty, mass-produced beer goes it's not bad. I haven't drank it in ages though.
