Fight could be in Rhodes moms front lawn and he still wouldn't have a shot. There's a reason why Rhodes never rose above domestic level. He's not a championship type fighter. He's a domestic level fighter who's about to face the next big thing. And his style is made to order for Alvarez. Rhodes won't move and use the ring like N'dou did. And he won't hold and clinch every time Alvarez gets close like Hatton did. He will come right at Alvarez looking to show he's the man and Alvarez is the boy. And will get absolutely smashed in the process.

Rhodes is a good fight for Alvarez's development. He is probably the best opponent for Alvarez to this point. I believe Rhodes will go out on his shield in an unsuccessful, yet valient effort, in about the 9th round.

I think this is a dangerous fight for Alvarez, Rhodes has a decent dig although you do wonder whether the win over Jamie Moore (who subsequently was found to have all sorts of brain issues) made him look better than he is. You'd certainly say a guy who looked like he wanted no part of Anthony Small is unlikely to scare Alvarez.

Still he's the naturally bigger man & I suspect he may cause him some issues. It's a potentially tricky match-up given where Alvarez currently is. I'm becoming worried about how much praise I'm giving to GBP lately
