Yeah, but it's not hard to call a fight if it's one bloke administering a heavy beating to another is it
Roldan v Hearns was give and take while it lasted

I've complained about Jim scoring for his favourite and trying to tally his score with the HBO guys over the years, but I still like him. He's been calling fights now for decades. Anyone doing it that long is gonna have plenty of dodgy nights.

At the end of Morales-Maidana he said he was scoring for Morales with his heart. At least he admitted the bias.

As in Hearns giving & Roldan taking?

Yea agree with this. The two of them were the dream team back in the day.

Darke was also top notch when commentating on the live Footy on Sky, was always using boxing analogies, top quality

    Watt is a twat.

Plus he doesn't half want EVERY fight stopped at the slightest excuse. Admittedly there are some fights where I can see his point (imo both Pac-Cotto & PBF-Mosley should have been stopped at about 8th-10th rounds as it was clear neither was going to win, weren't in the fight & they just took unnecessary punishment), but a fight like the Katsidis-Guerrero fight, I never felt Katsidis was out of it, even as he fell further behind.
That made me laugh! So true
I think British commentators on the whole seem worse than the Americans when it comes to the 'finding a theme early and sticking to it' thing. Watt is the worst for this though. A few good jabs land in round 1 from a fighter and you can be sure that even in round 12 we will be hearing about how the jab has controlled the fight etc.
On the other hand, HBO in particular annoy me by changing theme TOO easily. Like one guy is getting smashed up bad, then lands one or two punches and they go mad 'HERE COMES FIGHTER X! FIGHTING HIS WAY BACK INTO IT!' and start talking straight away like its been a back and forth fight.

Watt is probably past his prime and should be put to pasture.

Are you saying his corner should be thinking about getting him out of there?

Ian Darke left Sky to commentate on Premier League games for the US market, I didn't realise that e had been retained for the boxing until Sunday Morning.

I prefer John Rawling, but Darke's OK. It's probably time Jim Watt retired though, not that I'm sure who should replace him. I quite liked John Thaxton on the one fight I heard him on ITV4 (?).

No he's saying that Jim is looking far too negative Ryan, he's not doing the things he's supposed to be doing.

In a whiny Scottish accent of course.
