Maybe a nest in the stoves vent exhaust? I got stung on the eyelid a number of months ago putting up flood lights. Wasps are some seriously aggressive when pissed off!!

On the eyelid? Fuck me...
My girlfriend, who is allergic, had one sting the inside of her mouth/throat a couple of years ago. She had to be rushed to the hospital and got injections of benadryl and adrenaline to stop her from croaking.
One of the fuckers fly up my short and start stinging my upper thigh when I was driving once. Luckily he didn't get anywhere too tender or I might have crashed.
As a kid I ALWAYS pressed my luck with bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets. I sought them out and hunted them down...Why? Because there was this one time I was playing with one of my friends and he accidentally stepped on a yellow jacket nest and within seconds both of us were engulfed in angry yellow jackets....from that point on I plotted to rid the world of them and I was pretty good at it too.
My friend's mom got attacked by Japanese Hornets and had to go to the hospital for several days...those fuckers are HUGE.
I would suggest checking weather stripping if you've got windows or doors and if not then they probably came in through a vent or something...there were probably that many because they were looking to start a new nest.
