Gonna say it one more time, styles make fights. Mosely is gonna be like a Margarito that can actually hit Pac, and probably even harder. How can you guys after all these upsets and fights where people didnt expect good fights(morales/ortiz) write Mosely off? Once again I'm gonna go with this fight will be alot closer/better than most of you expect....

Ill go with Pac on a late stoppage after a close fight but the younger more aerobic fighter taking it out.

I also think Pac has the style to catch Shane on angles as he is coming forward too.

This fight will be more one sided than people think. Mosley had ease with Margarito because of his style as a more stationary target. Mosley was also active before that fight. In the last 2.5 + years he has fought Mayweather and was gassed in the first round and vs Mora he looked like crap.
This is a payday for Mosley he has no intentions of winning just collecting his retirement fund which was diminished by his divorce and now he has replenished that by losing to Floyd and Manny.

Mosley will be stopped mark my words.

Because he was gassed against Mayweather after about 3 rounds. Mayweather doesn't have the work-rate of Pacquiao. Mosley is fucked.

Margarito against Pac had more of chance than Shane does. Shane is shot and will be stopped, I say before the 8th. This would have been a great fight 5 or 6 years ago.

YOu're funny man. what kind of logic was that "Margarito against Pac had more of chance than Shane does" ? Margartio did not make it against Pacman, but Mosley bludgeoned and KO Marga in the 9th. Pacman ain't KO or TKO Marga. Three simple premises that show Mosley is better than Marga. Mosley is not only better but stronger than Marquez, or Morales (first tussle with Pacman).
That's why pro- Mosley, you ready your P1000 (Philippine currency, man) against Pacman fans who are going to pit your sum with their P5000. Expect for an upset and a windfall!

Margarito had to lose a shitload of weight prior to the fight and was caught with loaded gloves right before. And Mosley was the huge underdog, Margarito likely underestimated Mosley and probably wasn't at his best that night. Still, Mosley did what he had to do and looked great doing it.

I actually think Margarito looked somewhat better against Pac because his mind was in it and he was in shape. When Margarito is in shape, he will take the punishment and keep on coming. And so he did.

Roll on 2 plus years later and Mosley is coming in off of two fights without a win and a good dozen and a half rounds looking quite shot.

Pac is massive favourite for good reason.

Fist off Mosley is not as great as stated on the thread opener. A prime Mosley might have proven to be too much for Pacquio but that's question will have to be asked after Pacquiao finishes Mosley. Mosley, like Dela Hoya can't pull the trigger anymore. Margarito was slower than molasses which enabled Mosley to use his old, slow but savvy skills. Mosley can honestly get hurt and I hope the ref will be watch him really close. As far as being the toughest. Yea a prime Mosley would have been the toughest not the strongest most powerful punch) but the toughest (Pac will ever have faced is Margarito.

I think some people are once again getting a little carried away regarding how shot a former great fighter actually is.

Sure he lost to Floyd, not as one sidedly as Marquez though and he did KO the guy Manny last went the distance with.

Of course Manny is a big favourite but Shane has never lain down for anyone and all this tal of it being a routine knockout job for Manny is ridiculous.

When has Shane ever been stopped? He will want to fight to the end, he has the punch to hurt Manny and Manny isn't the hardest guy to hit.

An upset certainly isn't impossible. Manny is fighting above his natural weight class, he's managing two extremely demanding careers simultaneously and a guy like Shane can never be taken lightly.

Of course I expect Manny to win, but if he knocks Shane out, something that nobody else has ever done that would be a great acomplishment.

Marquez was more than to able to pull the trigger when he fought Pacquiao.
Margarito was willing to live up to his rep as a face first slugger when he fought Pacquiao.

Mosley will be caught in no-mans-land waiting to pull the trigger every second of every round.

I'm beting against Pacman, but I'm riding with Shane.
"Shane, please knock this dude out!"

Yes I do believe that Shane chance of winning will only come with the hardest punch he every threw. But saying that, if Shane be looking for that knockout punch, Manny is going to kill him. Naz have to have a gameplan. If he don't, here it go

Shane is going to have to read Manny's first punch. A pawing jab. That's the punch that Shane is going to have to punch with or offset Manny's rhythm with a strong jab(not the pawing jab he usually throws) or run out the way. Shane "HAD" good combonation speed. but now he can't match Manny. So if Manny get off first, Shane needs to, 1. Step in and hold for dear life 2. Cover up and pray or 3. Absorb and counter Manny 3rd or 4th punch. Manny second punch have death written all over it. Sometimes his fourth. Another thing, Shane is going to have to do, is cut Manny's angle with an angle. And I mean footwork cause we all know Manny punches come from different angles as well. But 90% of Manny's angles be cut to the right. Against most peoples power. If Shane can step into the counter, he might can slow Manny's combo down a bit.
Last but not least, Shane will hip punch and lower his head to cut Manny(not intentionally of course).

See I think this analysis is pretty good. I do think Naz and Shane will KNOW what to do and that Shane will recognize the opportunities in the ring. But I think he no longer has the reflexes or balance to EXECUTE quickly enough to be effective.

This fight will demonstrate again why boxing fans love Pacquiao and not Mayweather. Unlike the Mosley-mayweather snoozefest, a fight will be waged, punches will be thrown, big shots will be landed, chins tested. We will pay our money because we can depend on Paquiao to give us our money's worth.

I don't understand these posts that claim Naz Richardson will have an impact. Naz seems to be a good trainer and I like him but Mosley does not appear to be coachable.

Prime for prime at 135, that would be interesting (even if Pac did pretty much skip that weight class)

The thing is, I have no doubt that Mosley knows how to beat Pacquiao and that Richardson knows the plan to take him out. It's the fact that none of us know if Shane can follow through with that kind of performance consistently. Then again, not many expected Erik Morales to outslug Maidana. Morales didn't have to put on a spectacular performance, what he did was found the holes in Maidana's game and exploited them every chance he got, and conserved his energy the rest of the times. This is something Mosley should do. Mosley should take advantage of the holes in Manny's game and invest in the body early. Problem is, Shane has never been one to stick to a gameplan, he is more one that fights with all emotion, he can follow a gameplan for a round or so, but once he gets hit his fighter instinct gets the better of him. The last fight he ever followed the gameplan fully in was Margarito, but Margarito's wide looping shots and height didn't offer Mosley any issues with pressure. Against Pacquiao it's a whole different kind of monster. What I do not want this fight to turn into is a glorified sparring session where Mosley concedes the fight halfway through and just takes punishment.

But holes in Pacquiao's game have been shown, and they have been getting more and more apparently because Pacquiao IS slowing down. All these impressive performances, he is getting hit a lot more than he used to over the last few years when he worked on his boxing and in and out, he is losing some craft and getting hit more, so this is gonna be the best Pacquiao Mosley has a chance of beating at this stage. When Freddie says "I've seen your last two fights" to Shane, Mosley should say "and I've seen his last three" .
