He won the Olympic gold medal for you guys, how American hero can you be.

He said he threw it in a river as he was disgusted with America, so how can he be a American hero.
He said that was untrue I believe, when his book came out and he was questioned on it, he said he'd lost it somehow but he hadn't thrown it in a river. That was something the Nation of Islam fabricated. He actually said he was so proud of that medal he didn't take it off for weeks after the Olympics
