Your Last Closed Circuit Fight??

I'm curious what others closed circuit experiences have been.

The last fight I had to go see at a theater because it wasn't available on TV or PPV was the first Chavez-De la Hoya fight in 1996. Arum decided this was the easiest way for the poor Chavez fans to see there hero but really he was just trying to maximize his revenue and stop guys with "grey market" dishes (like me ;0) getting it for free.

I can remember a few time before that having to go to the casino here in town to see a few Tyson fights. I seen his fight with Henry Tillman (KO1) and Alex Stewart (KO1). Well at least we got all you can eat buffet LOL.

The last and only closed circuit fight I went to see was Duran-Leonard I at a theater in Houston, Texas, in March 1980. The quality on the big screen was pretty bad, you couldn't really see many of the punches landing, and I didn't have a clue who was winning until they announced the decision at the end of the fight.
What I remember most, was the undercard, a WBA World heavyweight title fight, featuring "Big John" Tate vs. Mike Weaver, and Weaver knocking Tate out in the 15th and final round. I also remember them selling big cups of beer at the fight, and there only being one bathroom for like 500 people, by the end of the fight we were pissing in the sinks.

BTW, at the time I was really glad Duran won the decision, I wasn't much of a fan of Leonard.

Leonard-Duran was my last closed circut too. But I'm almost certain the Tate-Weaver fight was a nationally televised fight announced by Keith Jackson on Wide World of Sports.

I'm a bit older then Marble and i've been a boxing fan for like 50 years,, but i'm not nearly as knowledgeable about boxing as Marble is, the guy makes Bert Sugar look like an amateur.

Tate-Weaver was on Wide World...At least, that is where I saw it. It was a big thing for me to watch as Weaver had often, and continued, to work out at the gym that I went to, when I went.

The quality of "closed circuit" was usually really bad, here in the states, cable technology was still in it's infancy.
