    It's not that.

Bradley is guaranteed $1.2m for his next fight regardless of whether he fights Khan. So he might aswell (from his point of view) take that and fight a beatable opponent, and then take the Khan fight after and pocket $1.4m.

Smart business sense really. Bradley isn't a ticket seller, and if he lost to Khan, i'm not sure where it would leave him in terms of future earning prospects. So he might aswell cash in on HBO's stupidity while he still can.
If he is thinks like that he's not very bright is he?

Khan could lose, then where would he be?

In this era of risk and reward and its twisted definition, why should Bradley fight Khan for 1.4 when he can fight the town janitor for 1.2 on HBO?

Well yeah, but it's probably close to being a 50/50 fight. So he might aswell take similar money for fighting a gimme, and then take the money for the Khan fight. Khan is unlikely to fight anyone who has much chance of beating him.

If Khan does lose, and the Bradley fight doesn't happen, Bradley will only lose $200k which isn't much considering he could end up making $2.6m. Smart if you ask me.
