The GREAT World Cup Teams from history

Guys - I am amazed at how many times we all mention England as having great teams. The fact is, the last time England were the best side in the world was about 1950!!

The only reason we won the 1966 world cup was that it was being played in England, and Pele was fouled out of the tournament/injured.

The hype that saw our current team of mediocre underachievers portrayed as some sort of 'golden generation' is the same that sees ANY England team in a top ten. If we are honest with ourselves, there has probably been ten better Brazilian teams than any England team.

Sick of football. Overhyped, diving nancy boys.

get a hold of the Holland/Argentina game from '74 which the Dutch won 4-0,you will never see football played better,a joy to watch!

Anyway, everyone knows that the best team in World Cup history was the 1958 Wales team.

We had the best teams period until 1950.

And post 1950 as well as 1966, we were favourites in 1970; where it took the Greatest ever team (Brazil of 1970), The Cat, and a crooked chef to rob us of the Gold once more.
