there are certain things you have to agree with what haye says
the HW division is boring with the klits as champs
It got a whole lot more interesting since haye came around
a lot more people will be watching this klit defence than probably all his others put together
Considering those things i dont see how boxing fans can be so dead against haye, i for one want the sport to become more main stream, and for that it needs a HW division, and during the klits reign it hasnt had one
and another point, people contributing to this thread seem so sure haye will get KOed, i really dont think anyone can be, haye has a very good chance of winning
and lets say he doesnt win, what happens to the HWs then? another 5 years of boredom?

How would it be any different with Haye? There would still be the same mediocre list of potential opponents and Haye isn't so exciting that he can breathe life into a dead division all by himself. At least the Klitschko's have shown a willingness to fight the best opponents available (something Haye, despite his words, has appeared at times unwilling to do) and aren't constantly threatening to retire.
The HW division will be a joke until it gets some real depth and talent, regardless of who the recognized champion(s) is/are.
who hasnt haye been willing to fight?
when haye fights - before the fight i am excited about an all action fast explosive fight with the posibility of a big spectacular KO, Haye is also about the same size as his opponents and there is usually more chance of him losing or at least getting involved
when wlad fights i can only expect to see him jab his way to a late stoppage at best, im not being down on wlad, its just what it is
and it isnt just me who thinks that, it is why noone watches and noone cares about the HWs anymore
yes the whole divisions wouldnt better with haye in charge but lets say haye fought areola, i would expect some fireworks and then either areola or haye to be on their back, to be frank, a much more exciting fight that a klit v areola
the championship fights would be much more exciting, the sport would be bigger, people would be talking about the fights both before and after they happened and looking forward to the next Heavyweight Championship fight

So you're telling me that Barrett, Valeuv, Ruiz, and Harrison were the best opponents available? There are reason's he took all those fights, but that's hardly a Pacquiao-esque resume.
They only exciting fight Haye has had at HW was against Ruiz, and we all knew that was a gimme going in. The Valuev fight was literally one of the worst fights I have ever seen, Barrett was a joke, and the Harrison fight was a joke AND one of the worst fights I have ever seen. That is not an impressive resume, though I would agree that Valuev was a decent opponent on paper, the outcome of the other fights (and even the Valuev fight I would argue) was never in doubt. There were always better fights out there (bar Valuev). I applaud him his role in finally making the fight with Wlad, and I don't have the visceral hatred for him that some people on here do, but it's not like Haye has been taking all comers.
To address some of your other points:
Even with Haye as a belt-holder, people outside of the UK still don't give a flying fuck about the HW division. I would argue that him being a star in Britain has about the same effect on the popularity of the division as Wlad being a star in Germany does. It's great for fans within those countries, but it doesn't seem to mean all that much to everyone else. There's huge hype about this fight because the two best fighters, both of whom appear vulnerable, in the division are fighting a unification bout (something which hasn't happened in what feels like decades), but it's not just because of Haye.
And Arreola wouldn't land a punch on David Haye, they're not even in the same class. And given the way he fought Valuev I would expect him to fight relatively defensively if they ever did meet. He knows his chin is suspect and he would be fool to fight in away that played into his opponents only strength.
sorry mate i dont agree with the bits following the "to address some of your other points"
and to be frank i dont think you agree with yourself
just answer me one question honestly
would you rather watch Haye v any of the top 10 opponents or Wlad Klit v one of them? and give me a number 1 to 10 of how much you would rather watch it

I don't get how Haye is going to change the heavyweight division up, if he's just going to retire after 2 more fights anyway...lol. I'm bringing back the heavyweight division for 2 fights....possibly just 1....hah!

It would all depend of the opponent. I'd much rather watch Wlad fight a legitimate (as legitimate as they get these days) contender than watch Haye beat up a walking corpse like Harrison, but if the situations were reversed I'd obviously rather watch Haye.
Opponents aside, Haye is a more exciting fighter than Wlad. He's more athletic and seems more vulnerable, which makes him more interesting in the ring. That being said, I don't think he's been a very exciting fighter at heavyweight. The Ruiz fight was fun, but Barrett was a slaughter, Valuev was - again - one of the worst fights I have ever seen, and Harrision was an embarrassment. Haye was much more exciting as a Cruiser. Would I rather see him than Wlad fight a random top 10 Heavyweight? I would say yes, but that doesn't mean Haye is a super-exciting, division-saving fighter, because he is not.
All this stuff aside, I'm really looking forward to this fight. I literally can't remember another time I was legitimately excited about a HW fight, but that's not solely a result of Haye.

Erics, why did the division get more interesting since Haye has been around? Haye has fought Valuev, Ruiz and Harrison. We can agree that those fights were quite dull. The only conceivable reason the division has got more exciting is the amount of trash Haye talks is mindboggling, and, therefore, he makes it hard not to notice him, which sheds some light on the division.

I would rather watch Haye fight, I am 100% behind Haye and completely want him to win, but............he isn't as exciting (in the ring) as he thinks he is, and I think he will lose and lose badly! Really hope I am wrong, becuase with the exception of Audley Harrisn, I have NEVER wanted a British fighter to lose to a foreign fighter and have had major arguments on here with peiple hat do (coz I just don't get it!!) Being objective is different, I think he will get starched!
