Both Cotto and Pavlik are classic cases of somebody going thru a dramatic period in their lives and the tattoo's represent their attempt to "make themselves over", subconscious. Cotto lost his aura of invincibility when he was KO'd by Margarito and Pavlik went thru rehab. Ever notice that James Hetfield from Metallica is all tatted up now? I find it strange that an alcoholic would get a tat on his lower back that says "Last Call". Couldn't make out what the scene below it was, but it looked like a scene from a bar.
