Interesting question... I'm not sure to be honest.
If Wlad wins, I think it puts an exclamation point on what has been a dominant HW reign. However, it would mean that the two best fighters in the division were still not fighting each other and I think it would result in the perpetuation of a dull, uninteresting division until Wlad retired; then it would be a dull, uninteresting division completely devoid of talent.
If Haye wins it will shake up a division that no one really cares about, and on the surface at least I think a Haye victory is best for boxing. However, if he just wins and retires, or if he wins and goes back to fighting the Audley Harrison's and John Ruiz's of the world, it won't really be any different than if Wlad had won...
In typing this out, I've discovered that I'm of the opinion that - while this is a very compelling fight - I don't think much will change regardless of who wins.
I'll probably cheer for Wlad because I dislike the way Haye carries himself and most of his most vocal supporters, but what I'm really hoping for is that we'll see a great fight that will result in a massive rematch and some legitimate, potentially long-term interest being brought back to the HW division (which IMO is highly unlikely).
