7-3 B-Hop and he should have 2 knockdowns credited.

As much as I dislike Hopkins, this was an amazing win for him, especially with him being 46 and the fight being in Montreal.

Pascal has nothing to be ashamed of, who would have dreamed Hop had this much left in the tank at 46.

Having said that, hopefully this will be Hopkins' last fight as a pro, I have no interest in ever seeing him fight again.

I still say it was a relatively close fight. Hopkins deserved the win and jolly good for him, but at no point was it a schooling or anything like that. Pascal doesn't throw more than 20 punches a round, you would expect Hopkins to be able to outwork him, even if he is 46.

I think what it shows more than anything is how average Pascal really is. He can punch hard, but he is lazy and takes so much time off in a 12 round fight.

Let's see Hopkins try and do that against Dawson.

might not be able to do it against Dawson but he'll be able to do it against another name that's been floating around in Carl Froch

Did you honestly see anything in Dawsons activity level (the thing that troubles Hopkins) that will force Hopkins off pace and on heels His new standing tall form could haunt him vs a sharp shooter.....and he has yet to show desire for pressure.

Good point, Pascal definitely has limitations, among them, fighting about a minute some rounds, and then giving the round away by not being busy enough. In fairness to Pascal, Hopkins is just a tough nut to crack, and it wasn't for his lack of trying.

The guy with more lazy tendencies in a 12 round fight then Pascal? I doubt Hopkins would really have trouble lowering Dawson's workrate, he seems to have less of a temper to fight at times and Pascal seemed to have more of one than him. Personally Hopkins could have an easier time with Dawson because of his demeanor lately. And even with that demeanor he is most effective counter punching, Hopkins is a counter puncher so it would be a game of who waits on who with Hopkins rushing in with a right hand left hook and tying Dawson up till the ref breaks them and Hopkins wins a decision while Manny yells at Dawson to be more active. The way to beat Hopkins is the way Pascal showed in the 12th, by not giving him any time to rest and trying to rough him up and even be dirty at times back to him. I don't see Dawson having that in him.

Dont count on it. If all else fails he can settle on tri-match and school Pascal again...who knows
