He's got 3 options: Bute at a catchweight, Dawson, or Cloud....or the one interesting fight we won't see Glenn Johnson II.

Bute is the one I want to see.
Then he can follow that with a move up to heavyweight and fight either Adamek or David Haye.![]()
I favor him big over last nights Dawson. Don't see a Pascal 3 thank God. Bute would be great, North of the border visibility solid for Hopkins. Arena was at record sales. Really weary of Butes body work on Hopkins. Can see his speed and angles being big problem but lean Hopkins. Hope he doesn't get crazy and think Cruiser or higher. Right now whats the point.
At this stage i think hopkins should avoid punchers

I would rather gouge my own eyes out than watch Hopkins fight "Bad Chad" Dawson.
Dawson stinks to high hell. I was almost asleep after watch that contest. He is so content with just getting through fights, keeping his distance, and using his lengths and very limited skillset, that he will never last as a fighter when a younger, hungrier fighter with better reflexes cones along. He skates through fights. I have RARELY seen a fighter with less "attitude" in the ring than Chad Dawson.
His punches are almost all arm punches. He never goes for the KO, he never asserts himself for more than 30 seconds in a single round. It is a shame Glen Johnson could not get rid of him. I am pretty sure he has a huge KO waiting for his as he is a dismal display fro Emmanuel Steward, who, IMHO is a fantastic trainer for rangy fighters.
The only thing that is "BAD" about Chad Dawson is his attitude in the ring.
Bring on Bute!
I think Bute will wait for Hopkins to fade more before taking on the old fox. He has rarely challenged himself in all honesty. He looks for fights that he can pick fighters apart. I am not saying he is not trumedously skilled, but at this point in the careers of real fighters (trinidad, ODLH, Pac, Glen Johnson, RJJ, Marquez, Morales...) look who they were fighting. They would scoff at teh "opportunity to fight" a Jesse Brinkley. And the surely wouldn't get beat pillar to post for a round by a Librado Andrade.
Truth be told... There isn't much out there for Hopkins to win at this point. I think he should fight Pascal again. If Pascal wants it... let him HAVE it. 18,000 fans will show up again. That fight was V/ entertaining.

- and I quote from some random guy on the internet
Hopkins should reitre as champ. Altough he can win big fights still at 46 years old. Dawson, Bute , Froch, Ward- he'd give them a tough fight if not a loss on their record
He should retire on this IMO. Go out with a huge win, on a high note. Don't end up like Roy Jones, SRR, SRL, ect ect.
