We got Friday Night Fights too!
I think this is the end of Glenn Johnson. I suspect Froch batters him. As for the other fight? Never seen Zbik so I have no idea.
Excellent HBO undercard too.

something tells me that froch will win. he looked great against abraham! of course johnson is a beast with utmost respect here~! and will no doubt make it a great fight. excited about this one!
it could go either way. if johnson makes it a nasty war he has a damn good shot!
i like both fighters!
Froch will win a wide descision
im still in 2 minds whether or not to stay up for it

I reckon Froch will take it at a canter, and importantly he needs to look good doing so I think. He's really stepped up his game over recent fights, and now he's back on Sky hopefully he continues to progress.
And for those on this side of the pond, we get to see Gavin Rees v Andy Murray.....sadly its not the tennis player.

I was considering Johnson's recent fights and trying to figure out whether Froch is comparable to any of Johnson's recent opponents. I didn't have any success. He isn't as physical as Cloud and not as fast as Dawson, both opponents that Johnson struggled with. The comparison with Clinton Woods apears on the surface to be apt because they're both Englishmen, but Froch's style is different than Clinton Woods. I also don't see Johnson as comparable really to any of Froch's recent opponents.
Thus, this fight is tough for me to call. I'd be surprised and impressed if Froch put on a clinic comparable to the one he put on Abraham. At the same time, I have a tendency to underestimate the man from Nottingham.
Johnson looked good the last time out dispensing of Allan Green in 6 rounds, but that's Allan Green, not Carl Froch. Froch looked good dispensing of Arthur Abraham, but that's Arthur Abraham, not Glen Johnson. This may come down to Froch's ability to keep Johnson at bay with his jab and his right hand. I'm leaning toward Froch in a mixed decision or split decision win where Froch appears vulnerable throughout the fight, and escapes with a good win.

As an aside, did people here know that Froch lost to Adrian Diaconu in the amateurs, and, it's that loss, which barred from joining the English Olympic team?
As far as Chavez Jr. v. Sebastian Zbik. I like Chavez Jr., probably by close decision. Vanes beats Roman maybe by KO.
Was Sven Ottke's best win over Glen Johnson?
Really Marble? I see this fight as really competitive fight, with Johnson giving as good as he gets. Glen may be 42, but this isn't his first 'war', and I don't see his career ending, or him getting battered by Froch. Froch likes to press the action, and Glen isn't going to back down, we could have helluva fight Saturday, i'm looking forward to it.

I definitely think Johnson's style will do well to drag Froch into an all out Brawl. Froch is a macho man and I think he'll actually like Johnson's power and try to match him for sneaky power punches.

I don't think Froch has that much of an edge because Johnson is still adjusting to this new weight and has fought stronger and more skilled fighters in the light heavy division. If Johnson is aggressive early and gives Froch a good body beating before going upstairs things might even out and it will be a close decision either way. Froch is not that skilled and Johnson is not young either so for at least four rounds it will be competitive. I'm not picking against Johnson because he's a good guy but I'm no fool because Froch is still learning the only question is did he learn enough for Saturday night?
