Boxing has been around for more than 2000 years and since the Marquis of Queens bury rules went into effect, we have had more reforms and safety regulations attached to boxing than any other sport. No one has counted all the injuries and fatalities of rugby or American football have they? Do you hear a corner-man in a boxing match say go out and break his legs? We have heard of Doctors trying to abolish boxing and yet the MMA is really popular even though people are hit when they are down. It will be a few years but they will surpass boxing injuries as though boxing were a Sunday School event. Think about it, boxing is no longer mayhem. It is a bonafied sport. I never could see the point of hitting a man when he's down. Yes there are fatalities but these men had a choice but considering all those years, boxing is well run in this area but as it was put in certain tenements in New York, roaches still slip through the cracks in the wall and will never go away because some things will always remain the same.

The goal in those sports is to score points using a ball.

The goal in boxing is to score points by causing as much noticeable damage as possible. The ultimate aim is to render someone unconcious.
