Going to be a good night

Wouldn't Sky be showing the Froch fight live at something like 3:00 AM Sunday morning in the UK?

Glen Johnson has pulled some really, really good fighters into battle. Glen Johnson is definitely not Arthur Abraham and will not cover up on the outside and just hope things get mixed up inside. He also never seems to age and his will never gets broken. Froch can work from range but Johnson is cagey and isn't exactly easy to land on. He's also got a crazy chin.

It seems like I always pick against Froch but I don't know here even though this is finally a seasoned guy and I think Johnson might do it. Tough one, no result would surprise me. Well, a Froch knockout would but that's about it. I could see either guy dominating the fight and either guy winning a close decision.

Well I'll be rooting for Johnson all the way. Will he win? Probably not. I think he'll give Froch a real tough fight, but I think Froch will get a close decision. Unfortunately.

Yeah, we're on the same page there. If Johnson is actually able to mess with Frcoh on the inside then I'm sure that will just add yet another facet to Wards eventual gameplan

And yes the is because I'm English

Agreed and he has never been beaten up. His one stoppage loss to an all time great was from a cut so to be in with the level of comp he has and to still be going at his age is an amazing achievement. Never an easy nights work for anyone but if Carl has the tactics spot on he can still win a landslide aslong as he just about edges every round.

Johnson pours it on so its hard to envision a 1 sided fight. In America any success Glen has will be magnified and Carl will have to make it very clear what he is doing if he intends to box his way to a victory. The one great shot Glen has that stands out is his over hand right. The way he swings it over with such frequency and finds the target is a worry for a guy like Carls whos chin is in the air. Its a punch Carl is open to and if Glen finds a home for it early then Carl will be eating them all night which will take its toll.

Im really looking forward to it because the styles will compliment each other perfectly. After a great effort from Glen I think he finishes second best to Carl on the scorecards. I remember Glens 3 fights with Woods and thought if Woods was just abit sharper and had a better dig he would have won all 3. Froch is just that, better, quicker and hits harder. I give him the edge 116-113

The boxing starts at 8pm and runs right through until 4am I think. It's a long one!

I'll miss most of it travelling back from Wembley, but will be back for the Froch fight.

It's too bad that a lot of good fights carried by Showtime, HBO et al, and shown here in the States live at 9:00 or 10:00 PM EST aren't seen live in the UK until at least 6 hours later. I have a hard time staying awake much past midnight, much less 3 or 4 AM, but then i'm an old fart.
