Froch is winning this, but that right is a worry. I really want to see Froch make Johnson look old now.

He might pull it out, but he's definitely not winning at the moment.

Not that I agree, but I'd bet money that the judges have Froch up by several points after 12.

FYI, Zbik - Chavez Jr. are both in the ring on HBO, perfect timing, the fight should start in a few.

Perhaps. To be fair, the fight has only had a small amount of my attention because of the hockey game. I thought Johnson looked much better early, but I payed almost no attention to the last two rounds.

117-111 is a truly disgusting scorecard. I'd say that's a 2 point win either way. 116-112 isn't good, but it is just about acceptable. There were some close rounds. No disrespect to Froch who was ever the warrior

I don't think it was that bad of a scorecard. 116-112 was probably right imo. Johnson was quite effective early on, but at the end of the day all he did was plod forward and throw the overhand right. You don't wins fights throwing single shots. As usually the commentators were giving rounds to Johnson, coz he landed 2 good shots when Froch won the other 2 minutes 50 seconds of the round.

Totally disagree & I've rewatched it this morning. Froch did nothing but land a job on Johnson's gloves for the first 3 rounds. He stepped it up in 4 & 5 using his right hand. The 6th was Johnson's coming back I felt, but I could at a push see that being Froch's. 7 & 8 Johnson landed not only the harder shots, but he actually did more of the work. 9 was a big Froch round & the 10th was fairly close, but as last night I'd give the edge to Froch. Similar story in the 11th & 12th, Froch just did more with his combinations. So that on reflection is 114-114. I'd say 115-113 either way is fair & 116-112 either way is a bit of a push but understandable. I simply can't see either fighter having an argument for winning 9 rounds of that. There were at least 4 clear rounds for each (1,2,3 & 8 for Johnson) (4,5,9 & 11 for Froch).

However, Froch was not winning 2 mins 50 seconds of any round. He only fired combos off when Johnson landed & even then he was usually overlanded over the whole exchange. Johnson did start looking for the right hand too much, but Froch spent far too much time just jabbing without landing because he was on the back foot too much & he seemed to spend at least 30 seconds of every round turning his back on Johnson as he walked away. The final few rounds suggested Froch could have won that more convincingly, he finished it stronger, but the early & middle rounds still factor into the scoring.

Gus johnson makes Jim Lampley sound like a unbiased solid announcer

Froch taking this round, heavier leather and more of it. 5-5 even up

Froch looked far better in the 11th too, Johnson looks gassed, which is understandable. Froch could have done more than what he has done though. A bit too close.

Well just like I said, a tough fight, but I think Froch's going to get a close decision, maybe even split.
