So how is ducking Pacquiao for the last 3 + years, and fighting Ortiz suppose to win this gutless piece of shit fans?
Just like he ducked Margarito right? It's funny that some guys have to seemingly fight everyone in the top 10 or they are ducking someone. I'm done arguing about whos to blame for Mayweather-Pac not fighting.... been there done that go look up an old thread. Mayweather ducked Cotto, Williams, Forrest, hmm let me see who else was around his weight he didnt fight....

Floyd fighting Ortiz, is a good fight for Ortiz and a bad one for Floyd. Unless he admits publicly that this fight is a tune up for Pacman next year -- well that sounds compelling. It gives Ortiz a chance to get the next big ticket to super stardom. For Floyd, its risk worth taking, but why would he risk his career and potential 50million for Ortiz if he has the chance to jump on to the mega fight with pac? But I honestly give credit to Floyd for cutting his 'vacation' short.

Now Roger was qouted saying that Ortiz fight is a harder challenge than a Pacman fight. Why the hell did they take the harder fight for the less money then? That goes to show you that they are very much into ducking mode when it comes to pac.

Pac isn't available until May 2012 now. Floyd obviously wants to get back in the ring before then. I never was optimistic that the fight will happen but now with this and the figures being thrown around (and with how Pac displayed against Mosley) I think it will. The fact Ortiz is a southpaw is significant.

Wasn't everyone lining up berto to fight Pac just a little while ago, now the guy that beat Berto isn't a good enough option for Floyd? I also wonder why theres not as much talk of the catchweight for Pac-Marquez. People were dissing Mayweather for it, oh he only fights smaller guys. Last time Pac-marquez fought was super-feather. Somehow the older guy isnt the one that can go up in weight as much, man that Pacquiao has such a great nutritionist! Jumping his weigh in up 13 lbs in the span of nine months, how does he do it?!?!

Allegedly, Floyd has been guaranteed $40m for this fight.

    Wow.

    Wow.
Why would a promoter give a $40 Million Guarantee to Floyd for Ortiz when he got $22.5 for Mosley. Mosley was a mar-key name, while Ortiz is only breaking into the PPV scene. Golden Boy wouldn't match $5 Million for Marquez, they sure as hell wouldn't put up a purse more than $30 Million on Ortiz vs Mayweather. If Mayweather were to put up his own money to promote the fight, Assuming he get a $20 Million site fee and a $20 Million Guarantee, I could believe a gross $40 Million Guarantee. But first, I doubt he would put up the money, second I don't believe Vegas would pay $20 Million for the fight. $10-$15 Million Yea possibly. For that kind of money they need 750K guaranteed PPV sales to break even. The decision maker would need to be confident of 1 million ppv sales to buy into it. Ortiz just doesn't have a big enough name to make that happen.

This is a good fight before Floyd fights Pac Man as Floyd has been inactive and needs to some rounds, it re-creates hype for the Manny fight, Ortiz is a southpaw, young and very hungry which is the type of opponent Pac Man has recently avoided. Floyd could do no better at welter than choose this opponent, the best available challenger. I hope Ortiz pulls out a victory which is doubtful but having seen the guy on ESPN he sounded a good guy who will give his all in this fight.

Did you mean Pac would rather make less fighting Floyds leftovers for less money.......when he could take a drug test and make more?
