I won a few quid backing him too. He was the only possible bet outside of Lynes and Witter.
How ironic was the final? A Brendan Ingle style fighter against a Brendan Ingle style impersonater. You couldn't make it up.

Was a strange Prizefighter to be honest. And pretty shit. I'm bored of it now. Will still watch it, mind.

I still enjoy Prizefighter. It is what it is. And it only helps promote fighters.
Gary Sykes got sparked out in 1 round but still kept his British title. Then successfully defended it. The fighters really have nothing to lose.

I thought Lynes beat Elmaachi for what its worth

- Witter flying through the ropes was the highlight of the night. Possibly year.
Misses with a huge lunging straight righthand that makes him take off like Superman and spark a camerman. Brilliant.

What made Witter losing (and falling out of the ring) even sweeter was how cocky he was between rounds with Ed Chamberlain. Stated he'd win Prizefighter and be back mixing it up with the world's elite - only to get beaten in three rounds by El Maachi and didn't have one judge have him winning the fight.![]()

You mean Ed Robinson. Chamberlin is the bloke who does the football, he'd be all at sea in a boxing arena. I agree though Witter acted like he already had the money in his bank account.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with eric. I also thought El Maachi nicked the Lynes fight, Lynes just didn't seem to land anything while El Maachi did. He's painful to watch, but I thought he deserved it last night. I just pray he picks up a bit of technique on the way to his next fight.
