I don't know if it's true, but I just read that Mayweather is getting $40 mil to fight Ortiz in September, so someone must love this gutless sack of shit, it sure as hell ain't me, I wouldn't pay 10 cents to see one of this clown's PPVs.

It seems Mayweather is guaranteeing himself $40m, since the fight is being promoted by Mayweather Promotions and GBP. I do not read anywhere that HBO or Showtime is picking up the tab. They might be staging their own PPV. I don't think they can generate enough revenue to pay Ortiz a decent purse. Correct me if I am wrong.

Hmmmm, interesting, I guess we shall see, without HBO or Showtime promoting the fight, I don't see how FBF-Ortiz would generate enough PPV buys to cover Mayweather's alleged $40 million guarantee. It would seem like the PPV would need 1 million + buys just to break even, and I don't see this fight generating that kind of interest, especially if it's not promoted by HBO.

I stand corrected. I just saw on HBO PPV Schedule that they have the fight posted for September 17. But still I find it hard to believe that a guarantee of $40m is feasible.
