What double standards? MArquez is heading into the biggest bout of his life against the P4P King in Pacquiao in November so who cares who he fights in July.... He can tuneup against anybody he wants. He wanted Diaz but the man priced himself out so that's that.

Is Floyd going to fight fight pacman after Ortiz? probably not, that's why he's getting shit for it... Personally I like the ortiz fight but many others dont approve it..

There are no double standards here.
Here let me explain it to you, read slowly so you can understand fully. Marquez has only been off since november not even a full year, he is fighting a guy that has got knocked out by Solis, and lost to Walter Estrada...his opponents have been poor to say the least no big name win at all. Floyd has been off for over a year and is facing a quality opponent no tune up. Yet as VD says you cant talk smack to JMM because he has fought decent opposition in his last 5 fights....what the fuck has Floyd fought? Chopped liver? Give me a break.
Everything you said about Ramos is true but that's beside the point. Nobody ever said that Ramos is a worthy opponent, but he is what he is, a safe tuneup. In Marquez situation, he needs to be real careful about who he chooses because if someting goes wrong in the tuneup, Pacman trilogy can be in jeopardy so why risk it? Who else can he possibly fight to prepare himself for Pacman? He knows pacman's style already so all he needs to do is stay sharp against any southpaw out there.

You can't compare marquez to Floyd... Floyd is an exceptional fighter who doesnt need tuneups because he's head and shoulders above the rest.

And about VD's comment.. Marquez is my favorite fighter but Im not going to say that his last 5 fights were better than Floyd's last 5 because it's just not true. In fact, Floyd's last 5 fights were more impressive imo in terms of the significance of the bouts.
