Default David Haye vs Chris Bird

How do you think it would go?

    Now? Haye would massacre him.

Back in Byrd's prime... hard to say. Chris was as slick as they came and made a career out of defusing a lot of dangerous power punchers, but I don't think any of them had the handspeed Haye did. Toss up for me.

Both of them are/were small Heavyweights, Haye would have slightly better power, but Byrd had one of the best defenses in the business, so it's a wash. Byrd had far more experience than Haye does as a HW and in Championship fights, so i'd have to go with "prime Byrd" by UD, I think he frustrates Haye and gives him fits.

Byrd by a dominant decision. Two different classes of fighter at heavy.

Bird had a good run as a champion a bit lucky at times to get the decision but Haye has the right and power to take out Bird.

Good post guys. I think this would of been a good match. Whoever fights their fight wins. I lean towards haye but byrd was a smart fighter that could nuetralize what haye tries to do.

It's 'Byrd' Master, a 'Bird' is one of those annoying things that shits on your windshield.

Byrd was at best against the low to ground bulky types, made 'big' punchers look silly early on. With the exception of a Arthur weathers who I think hurt Byrd as much as Ike, had it not been at rounds end he was done and out. Later on he got stuck on trying to prove something and turn macho with all the talk of him throwing nerf balls for punches.

His handspeed was just top notch, as was focus. He didnt hit hard (I think he seriously hurt Tua to body though) but it was just volume and he kept them 'rolling in. I think he's keep Haye all off balance and have him winging in big bombs as it went. Keeps his head and stick and move I dont think Haye touches him.

I think its tough to call because hell Byrd was a solid fighter, decent title holder, and took David Tua's biggest punches.

We've yet to see the current WBA title holder tested all that much.

If Haye keeps his head I think he takes Byrd late on. Could of been a great fight though this. Then again it could have been a bad clash of styles too.

Hell, I think Eddie Chambers would give Haye a decent match but Byrd had that winners mentallity... I've got MAD respect for Chris Byrd. Any man that can go 30+ rounds with the Klitschko's gets my respect. Even more so now I know just how blown up he was.

I pretty much agree with what most people are saying, Byrd might even drop Haye once or twice if his own punchers were aloud to find a regular home. David's punching technique is just crap for a guy like Bryd.

Yes it was Julius fault but i did think to myself that was not the right spelling but thought Julius must have done his homework before he decided to put this up as a thread.
