I've watched that footage before and it is cringeworthy. You see Carnera getting up and Baer is jacking him immediately.


Imagine if fighters today had to deal with those kind of fights!!!! Many of today's fighters aren't mentally tough. They would crumble if they ever got knocked down and had a guy almost immediately on top of them.

Back then you didn't see as much of the "sweet science", more often then not, there were donnybrooks/brawls, like Baer-Carnera, Dempsey-Willard, Dempsey-Firpo, et al, I bet it was great fun watching these fights at ringside.
