amir khan is talking about retirement already!

The money??

You mena the 70-30 split he gave KT in his own backyard Come on mate do you believe this bullshit, if Hatton was in it for the money what the F*** is he doing fighting in America?? He could stay home and beat bums all night long for more money, he is a true warrier thats why he did everything in his power to fight KT and gave him 70% of the fee, would Clazaghe fight Hopkins for that split would he F***, Hatton will fight at least 6/7 fights before he retires this is a heap of S***.
of course the money's better in america. ticket sales for seats at the arena are a TINY fraction of a fight's revenue. i don't care if ricky's selling out arenas five times as big in manchester than he would in vegas--if he doesn't have a name in america, he's not bringing in american PPV dollars (the real money), which, just to remind you, is a massively bigger pool of money than the UK pool, given that the US has a population of 296 million and the UK has a population of 60 million.
Mate i see what your saying but Ricky Hatton is a bigger gate puller in the Uk, his PPV sales outwigh the ones he gets in America right now, well if thats the case why did KT come and fihgt Hatton in his own backyard when he was basically a p4p legend?? I tell you why the $5 million he was paid, did he get anywhere near that mark previously i very much doubt it.
that's all true, but (1) the kt thing has limited relevance, because i don't doubt a fighter can make a lot more money in europe than in australia and (2) while ricky makes more ppv $$ in the uk than in the us NOW, it still stands to reason that he could make a whole lot more if he got respect and a name in the US.

anyway, i had missed your point earlier about giving kt 70/30, so i think you're right about ricky not being all about the money. all i'm saying is that as far as the money IS concerned, there's way more potential in the US. CC.
