this guy was openly bisexual. He fought guys like Carlos Monzon and Luis Manuel Rodriguez

That's the right name but he wasn't "openly" anything. At least not during his fighting days He lived almost all his life in a sad denial.

I watched dozens of Griffith's fights fights back in the day, and like most boxing fans, I didn't have a clue. I believe if Griffith had been open about his homosexuality, because of the climate of the times, he would have be ostracized by the boxing community.

Outside of Griffth, Haye and Mayweather, I can't think of any gay boxers.
