I have a bet on a haye win by way of KO in the 5th.

Haye CAN win but weather he will or not who knows. I personally think this fight is the boxing equivalent of a game of russian roulette.

Let's try it this way. Find me another fighter in the history of the gloved sport, any division, any time who landed fewer than 100 punches in a distance fight and won a strap.

The issue is one of character. How could 13 POSSIBLY have been comfortable he was doing enough to win? It was just bizzarre.
Find me another fighter that gave away 100lb and a foot in height?

13 was comfortable because he wasn't being hit.

You believe Graham Houston is a good judge, right? DAVID HAYE W12 (maj.) NIKOLAI VALUEV
You know size isn't a factor in judging.

Not getting hit isn't enough to win a fight. Especially a title fight.

I've read Houston on this. I also think Kieran Mulvaney knows his stuff and he didn't see it that way. Read the article. Even Houston wondered during the fight if 13 was being too cautious and read the scores at the bottom from other observers.

I don't know how ANYBODY can say they think a fighter who lands eight punches a round should be comfortable they are winning. It's crazy!

13 was comfortable leaving his fate in the hands of the judges. Weird.
Not getting hit isn't good enough. But Haye LANDED 70% to Valuev's 15%. So Haye won easy. Unless you score Valuev for jabbing air.

Bernard Hopkins, Lennox Lewis and Manny Steward said Haye fought a perfect fight.

Word. This fight, regardless of the outcome, is nothing but good for boxing.
I wish Haye all the luck in the world, really. Regardless of not having a Ross purity chin or handspeed of Sanders I think he'll go out on his shield

Yes, it doesnt improve the quality of the chanting sadly but it does ensure at least that we progress beyond three letters

This fight will be over whenever Wladimir wants it to be over... if Haye sees the second half of the fight it is because Wladimir wants to punish him ala Ali Vs Terrell (WHAT'S MY NAME )

Haye was tentative against Harrison so i can't see him going for it in this one.

Saying that..... GOOD LUCK HAYE and credit for taking this fight and in germany

I'm picking Haye in this fight. His hand speed and power will be too much for Wlad to handle. Plus I don't think Wlad loves boxing anymore. He lives in Beverly Hills for crying out loud. He dated a movie star. Money + American = lazy fat pig.

Granted they could use some vocal coaching, maybe song selection has left alot to be desired and it is annoying, but I think crap is a bit strong

Crowd noise means fuck all and I see nothing cool in a bunch of chanting muppets. Wlad is going to mess this guy up badly and they are all going to bladdered in the pub afterwards to forget about it. Bring it on Wlad, jab by jab then the right. All Haye is going to do is Valuev mark 2 because that is all he can do when not facing retired Ruiz types.

balls to % landed. That's a matter accuracy. Not damage done

And strange things happen in boxing.

But I've been trying to figure out a way in which 13's movement can get it done.

He doesn't bob and weave or move his head much, so he can't get inside up the middle because Wlad's jab will wear him out and do so in short order.

If he tries to move right he runs into the little hook Wlad throws off his jab and I can't see how that's productive.

If he moves to his left I think he can evade reasonably well, but what does he land moving in that direction? Moving left and than having to plant to throw the right seems entirely too slow. Is his left hook a serious enough punch to make it the core of 13's strategy? When he stops to throw it, the natural Wlad move will be the straight right. Is that the right situation for 13?

What I am left with is an attenpt to fight the way Joe Louis used to. Approach the other guy until almost in punching range and then retreat six inches at a time, six inches at a time, six inches at a time, and when the foe comes in range by over pursuing then punch, and punch hard. We haven't really seen Wlad have to make the fight against a guy like that over the past 3-4 years have we? But that kind of approach requires that 13 have amazing legs and be able to not miss a beat and know precisely where the ropes are at all times. It may be 13's best shot.

I have no dog in this hunt and don't care much who wins, but I don't see it beign competitive. Wlad early.
move right/slip jab & throw over the top. Shit, if my short arse 5'5" could land it against 6' lanky stationary fuckers I'm sure someone must have taught it to Haye?
