    This ain't a "wind-up" thread.

Haye was meant to be DESTROYED. Did that happen? NO. So all the "experts" have a thread to come and apologise to Haye.

Lets keep it real. No harm in being proven wrong. Fact.

Magnificent effort? He talked so big about how he would KO Wlad and he ended up like every other guy who fought Wlad over the last few years. He CONSISTENTLY whined to the referee, flopped to the mat like a fish claiming to be pushed, and had absolutely NO answer to Wlad when his "lunging punch" strategy wasn't working.

If you are a Haye fan/Brit and you're proud of this performance, you're delusional. It was a disgrace, and it was yet another bitter reminder why boxing is a dying sport. HUGE hype, TINY show.

totally correct... i guess like me you also expected Haye to get sparked out and be totally out of his depth.

he was not and I think maybe me and you are the only ones supprised at this... oh and Wlad judging by his UK interview

I don't think Wladimir or his team ever once said Haye would be quickly destroyed, in fact Wlad thought it would be a 12 round fight and a late knockout for him.

There are people on this site, myself included who thought (hoped) that Haye would get embarrassed but if you think mine or Lyle's opinion means something to the wider boxing community then sadly I think you are overestimating our international influence.

Exactly, apologize for what? You honestly feel that was a laudible performance from Haye? He didn't get destroyed because he fought a terribly negative fight in which Wlad was content to control him from range and easily win on the cards. That was the blunt of the smack talk coming from Haye in the lead up, yet he was content to be another overmatched opponent and last the 12. I wasnt rooting for either fighter and like any real fan was just hoping to see a good fight. Everything you post seems to be an effort to polarize and wind up those who are to thick to detect sarcasm, which is fair enough I guess. Just kind of boring in this case if you ask me. Haye deserves absolutey no credit for that after all of his antics, but of course you know this.

Good to see someone not throwing stones and not peddling the anti-Haye rubbish.

Ask one question, who was doing the best at the end of the bout in the final round?

You need to look up the definitions of "Magnificent" "Effort" and "Fact"
Haye fans are so damn delusional. Their fighter didn't fight magnificent. There was one time during the fight that Haye landed a decent right hand, and Haye didn't throw another shot for 45 seconds. He just kept moving. Merchant sat there and said something like, "he throws a right hand and follows up with..... nothing."

Wlad has a long jab. Haye tried to stay out of range of the jab.

Why is it that the best HWs to face Wlad have basically done anything to stay away? Chagaev, Ibragimov, and Haye, all 3 fought to stay away and not get hit.

I think the answer is pretty simple. These guys don't want to be removed from their senses.

I loved Haye's rabbit punches. At the end of a couple of rounds he tried to hit Wlad in the back of the head as the round was ending. He got aggressive because the round was over and he wasn't going to get hit back.

What happened to the Herculean power of the haymaker...and is Wlads chin still made of sugar glass ? I mean, at least Davyrrill Williamson dropped Wlad...gheesh

Honestly. I thought Haye fought to survive in the 2nd half. He literally looked a bit squeamish coming to the ring and honestly when I saw Wlad walking in with alot of pressure and little jab and offense the 1st few rounds I expected Haye to unleash hell and expected Wlad to get dropped ugly at least once. He never formulated an attack, at all. He was right in his face and Haye just looked for sucker shots...he fought cheap.

When you talk THAT much bs and thump your chest that constantly you must back it up and not be merely content to say "Well I went the distance....AND I did it with a crooked toe I nicked on the end of me sofa last week"

Haye could have turned up the heat at some point in the fight!!!!!!

He is a bit awkward and he doesn't throw alot of shots, but at some points in the fight you have to up the action. You have to throw more punches!!!!!

Moving around the ring being hard to hit is a good strategy. But only when you return fire and do some damage.

I don't doubt the story that Haye was tackled in the parking lott and forced back in. Which was the reason for the delay prior to his ring walk

Let's not give haye too much credit. His defense was a little better than I thought. But the reason wlad did not punish him is because haye never engaged and wlad is not a head hunter

i agree. haye spent most of his time surviving trying to slip and dodge wlad's jab staying outside of wlad's reach. which is perfect for wlad cause he doesn't even put himself in harm's way to be effective and he just had to watch for the 1 hayemaker thrown each round.

if anything haye's defense benefited wlad more than haye. staying on the outside and waiting for your 1 big shot, eventually just surviving to the end.

poeple thought wlad would get the KO because they were expecting haye to be aggressive and to bring the fight. at which point wlad woulda ko'd him.

and i think the KO would look better on haye than the broken pinky toe excuse.
