I was entertained by by the fight, but that was only because Wlad dominated. As for Haye's performance, fer christ sakes man, he landed 6 punches a round, less than half of the 13 he averaged in the Valuev stinker, and fell down about 12 times, how was it not Horrible? Especially in view of the fact that he'd been talking continuous shit about how he was going to decapitate Wlad for months prior to the fight, then fought like a douche.
As for my LL comment that was figurative more then anything, it just seemed like 1/2 of British boxing fans had this chump overrated to the hilt, and were betting on him, and predicting that he'd KO Wlad within a couple rounds. What did the pre-fight polls for this fight look like in the UK?
Jimbo, the British fans are amazing and they support their fighters like no other....but some of those fans are just uneducated or just have this mental block about their fighters being the best. All fans are capable of it, the US has their fair share of flops, but not as many that are as big of a flop as Haye, like I said in heavyweights the closest we can recently come is Kevin Johnson.
Haye refused to fight, he didn't even try to go for the KO...it was appalling.
That being said, Nicolay Valuev is starting to get a bit mouthy now too...I hope he fights Wlad, that's another fraud that needs to be taught a lesson.
Where did you get your 'half of England thought Haye was the second coming of Lewis?' I've never seen that posted on this forum nor have i ever heard anyone say it. Your from the US? What the hell do you know about British boxing fans? You've been wrongly informed. You seem to get very emotional not only at Haye but at his fans its like you can't stand anything to do with David Haye. Tha would be called hate.
