    This.

It was, and likely always will be, the best fight I have ever seen.

    Totally agree.

I mean Castillo/ Corrales, Gatti/Ward, Izzy/Marquez were mind blowing fights but this was last time I ever saw two guys in the ring with such a combined ability and reputation only to put in on the line, life or death the way they did... Well I would certainly wish to preserve this one fight as maybe the 'last of it's kind'.

Also, being a heavyweight boxing fanatic, I'd have to say Holyfield/Bowe I.

You'll NEVER see a fight for the Undisputed Heavyweight crown turn into the wild slugfest that this one did. This again, is probably the last of it's kind. (and one for the ages at that!)

Funny thing about that great fight was I was supporting EM but turned and supported MAB and then turned again. The decsison was wrong but the fight was an epic. Both fighters put absolutely everything on the line, they had nothing else to give. Makes my heart beat faster just thinking about that fight.

The best I can counter with is Marco Antonio Barrera-Kennedy McKinney and Daniel Zaragosa-Paul Banke 2. Damn I miss Great Western Forum fights

    Man very difficult.

Castillo-Corrales is for me the best fight of all time & a real classic. I simply cannot believe there has been a more dramatic round than that 10th.

But then, I'd be tempted to pick one of the fights that really resonated with me personally. The first fight I properly watched (rather than saw on in the background & feigned interest in if other people were watching it) was RJJ-Griffin II (not that I knew it). I was probably like 8 or 9 & went into the living room to watch a movie that I wasn't supposed to (Scream 1) & after it finished as I turned the video off, it cut to late night ITV & they were in the ring just about to get their instructions not that I had a clue what was going on. For some reason I carried on watching & I loved it.

Then there's Mayweather-Hatton. I love this fight because of how exciting it felt in the build-up when it was happening over here. Mayweather was one of my favourite fighters, but the general atmosphere was great, I'd argue more than any other fight in my memory (although Bruno-Tyson might have topped it, I was barely out of nappies when that went down). It was also the fact that in my area there was a real division between people wanting Ricky to win because he was British & those who wanted Floyd to win because he was black, but it was all good-natured with none of the bad taste that the Hagler-Minter & Christie-Kaylor fights apparently had.

But, I guess if I had to pick one it would be Leonard-Hearns 1. Just a great all-round fight & I still love the way it goes back & forth. I think if I had to have one to show future societies why we loved this sport, that one would come the closest to encapsulating it.
