She is talented though. I quite like her Bon Iver cover although I prefer the rawness of Vernon's guitar to the piano.

She's actually been a big star in the making for a while now since winning some national singing contest a few years ago.

I know she writes her own stuff too so she will probably be releasing some of her own tracks eventually.

Personally I prefer Birdy's version to Bon Iver's, the lyrics are more poignant in hers I feel. Similar to Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt in that respect.

Amazing talent though, Skinny Love is one of my favourite tracks of the year so far.
I just don't get that at all. Justin Vernon took himself off to the woods for a whole winter recording that song, all about the heartache he felt, and you feel more empathy with a 14 year old girl's version? Who broke her heart? Some skaterboard kid from the year above who invited another girl to the prom? That's just bizarre to me.
You misunderstood what I meant. The lyrics are still the same but resonate better in her version - her arrangement does the lyrics more justice. Vernon still wrote the song either way.
