but didnt golota get a draw against byrd atleast he has done something and im sure he wont get another shot after being tko by brewster. its just annoying cos barrett has done nothing to get where a title shot . but i guess there is nothing i can do about it hahaha! but i would like to see valuev against skelton in england what has valuev got to lose fighting him? valuev will beat skelton easily and skelton has done somthing to earn a shot! and there was alot of talk about him and valuev fighting after his victory over danny and there were other posts saying about valuev looking at a tape or sumthing .well why cant he fight skelton instead of barrett who has done fuck all to be honest

I understand where your coming from, Barrett hasn't done nothing... but I could ask the same of Skelton. He defeated Williams who beat a shot Tyson. Valuev needs to be active for a start, should give Ruiz a rematch cause the win wasn't convincing ( but nobody wants to see it again ). Valuev should fight Lyakhovich, but he knows he'll get killed

well i'll give valuev the credit he is stepping up from owen beck but i personally think skelton shoulg get the shot because he is getting older and he did what he was told to do and that was to beat williams and skelton gave 110% and i think after that performance he should be givin a shot beacuse valuev knows he will win and there in on harm done on his own behalf

Valuev is underrated, not saying he's a world beater by any means, but he will be knocking Monte Barrret out.

....I hate to disagree but Monte has a good chin and great heart...Wlad had to knock him down 5 times, he took Joe Mesi's best shots too.

The problem with Barrett is he usually fights to the level of his opponent so if Valuev attacks he's going to be in good shape if Valuev hides behind the jab then it'll be BORING

Moments ago heavyweight contender Monte Barrett informed Boxingtalk.com that he has signed on to face WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev on October 7 or October 14. Barrett stated that it is his understanding Valuev has also signed for the fight and is just waiting to hear from DKP with the exact date and place

Valuev continues to improve with each fight...I think Valuev gets rid of Barret well before the final bell...Barret doesn't have the power to keep Valuev back.....and that's a big back...

Bigaru: I agree totally; can Barrett outbox him? Probably, but the Russian is just too big and strong. Why do so many resent that aspect of Valuev? Yup, as a Brit and a boxing fan, I have to agree here. Skelton has fought well to beat Danny, and when compared to Barrett, I think Valuev is taking a gimme fight here, where he'll cruise pst an overrated american, like many americans, and then people will be surprised\that he won.
