Mother's surname is automatically the babies middle name in our country.
If Angelina Jolie gives birth to Bradd Pitt's baby and named him Leonardo.
The baby's name would be Leonardo Jolie Pitt. e.g

I like that tradition. It lets one trace the Mother's lineage as well. I dated a woman from Columbia who had too many middle names for me to remember, her mother, maternal grandmother, maternal great grandmother etc back IIRC seven or eight generations.

Its disadvantageous if the standard is having no middle name. so many people will share a name.
Millions of people would be named Michael Williams, Dennis Robinson, etc
Irish? Are people from Northern Ireland and Ireland considered as one people? Both are Irish right? Do you need a passport to go to the other side?
