It was strange to watch.
Cook should of never been in the ring imo. His back just giving out like that makes me wonder how the hell he made it through training camp.
From the BBC's live blog
this post was made before the fight:
Cook has been suffering from a degenerative spinal condition that has forced him to rest when the pain flares up.
this post was made right at the conclusion of the fight:
2230: Oh, dear. Let's hope Cook is going to be OK. He has had problems with his back for a while now, but how on earth was he passed fit enough to fight. You cannot fault his bravery - he wanted to go on, but the pain is evident on his face.
None of us will ever know, but I would guess it has bothered him in training camp. The likelihood of it "flaring up" in that short a time into the fight isn't very high, unless it had been bothering him quite a bit during training camp.
Cook shouldn't have been chosen as an opponent in my opinion.
There was some strange betting before the fight so this was an out for him not to fall in the 3rd round. Fake injury.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I heard that betting was suspended for the fight. Someone obviously knew something.
As someone with a horrible back problems I can tell you that you never ever know what will cause it to dump your ass in the floor. You can run a mile and be fine, step off a curb and be bed ridden. Cook prob rolled the dice.
i wouldnt be surprised if alot of money went on the early rounds or round 3 because cook had had afew problems in training and they fought the fight wouldnt go long. He did seem to be in alot of pain in the fight.
