“Stand By Me.” was Ben E. King's song, I don't know if Sam Cook did a rendition of it, he may have.

When I originally heard Clay/Ali's version of the song, I didn't think it sounded too bad, I believe he was around 20 years old at the time.

What I was getting at was that Ali loved to hang about with singers and thought of himself as a good singer too.
