Henderson for UFC ?!?

Randy's retired so that fight wouldn't happen. I would love to see Hendo back i was annoyed that he didn't get his title shot after the Bisping fight and therefor left to go to strikeforce.

Right now i think he has a good chance with anyone in the 205 division and there are so great matchups he could be in. Tito, Rua, Machida, Bader, Evans, Rampage and Jones would all be great fights to see. He is looking to have a bout 4/5 more fights before retireing so it would be nice to see him end his career in style in the UFC!

And for the record I've got him beating all the guys above but Im not sure about Bones yet.

Dan's wrestling, conditioning, toughness and dynamite right hand make him a tough fight for anyone. The Fedor fight was a big win but Calvacante and Babalu were great KO's over good fighters that wouldn't crack UFC's LHW top 10. I think he'd beat Rua, Rashad and Tito but I don't see him beating Jones or Rampage. I think a fight between him and Machida would tell us a lot about how he would stack up against the top echelon of 205. Machida is tough to hit cleanly and does a good job keeping wrestlers from getting the takedown. I'd lean towards Lyoto in this one particularly in a 3 rounder, but in a 5 round fight Hendo might be able to grind him down some and land a big punch. Lets hope some of these fights happen.

He hasn't beaten an elite fighter in his prime for ages. Beating Fedor is more about his terrible decline imo, like James Toney beating Holyfield.

A younger Hendo was beaten by Rampage, dominated by Anderson Silva and even lost to Jake Shields.

I think Strikeforce is a bit shit compared to the UFC and wouldn't expect anyone from that organisation to transition well.

You must be kidding Nick Diaz is one of the best fighters in the world good enought to come straight to the UFC to challenge GSP. Gilbert Melendez who is no.2 ranked at lightweight in MMA. Paul Daley seemed to do pretty well in the UFC. Jake Shields has moved to the UFC and was the first person in i don't know how long to win around against GSP and he beat a top contender in Martin Kampmann. None of these guys make it in the UFC? I could go on with Gegard Mousasi, Overeem (who is cut now but hay) and many more. But you don't think these guys would transition well into the UFC? Your delusional.

Concidering there middleweight and he is fighting at light heavy now thats a crap judgment. He just beat a guy up who was a natural heavyweight. If he rematched Rampage he would get the win as would he against Tito, Rua, Forrest.
Oh and his loss to Rampage was in 07 that being 4 years ago he was hardly young.

Well as Zuffa owns Strikeforce I'm sure you will see him in there again.

But trying to big fighters up by saying 'Hey he won a round against the champ' shows how weak your argument is. I like Hendo, and I do think he's one of the best ever, I just feel he's too old to be a legitimate threat to the top 4 or 5 in his weight class in the UFC. I think he's ahead of guys like Wanderlei, Bisping and Mark Hamill, but behind Rampage, Rashard, Rua, Jones etc as I've said.

As for the other guys you mentioned, Daley got thrown out of the UFC after his weak as piss performance against Koscheck where the only punch he landed came after the fight, Shields was by far the best Strikeforce guy and he beat Hendo.

Also I never said the strikeforce fighters were as good as the elite in the UFC i said they could hang in the UFC because you said they wouldn't transition well. You'd pick Mir and Carwin over Overeem? The guy who recently won K1 and considering Carwin got dominated by Dos Santos a striker and Mir had trouble with big country i think he'd put away both of them. Maybe you should watch some strikeforce fighters? Or just MMA on a whole.

To me Dan's issue with the top tier isn't age...yet, its the evolution of the sport catching up with some of the older guys. Guys like Chuck, Hughes, Fedor and Dan have not evolved their skill set as the sport has become less and less wrestler vs striker and more and more well rounded fighters that can fight anywhere on the mat. Plus Dan's Greco wrestling is not the same as Chael's freestyle. Randy was very effective at using the Greco to put guys on the fence and beat on them but I don't see Dan use it nearly as effective. I think its better to break down the top tier guys individuall and how Dan matches up.

Rampage - tremendous athleticism, decent wrestling and pretty good striking (handspeed/power). I just don't think Dan is going to be able to dictate where this fight happens and barring landing that one killer punch is going to get outworked in the standup. Rampage's biggest issue seems motivation. I haven't seen the killer that took Chuck's title in a while.

Rashad - Great wrestling, good handspeed and power but seems to tire in fights and lacks the top tier jaw to bang with powerful strikers. Since the Lyoto debacle Rashad has returned to his wrestling roots and stopped trying to KO everyone and it resulted in a good but uneventful win over Jackson. Logic says that if Shields can consistently take down Dan then Rashad should as well but I'm not sold completely on this. None the less I think at some point Dan can force Rashad to stand and fight, particularly in a 5 rounder and knock him out.

Rua - This guy's gas tank just isn't at the Pride level anymore. He isn't going to challenge Dan in the wrestling department. I think this is another fight wear Dan is going to weather an early storm by Rua and grind out a late UD or TKO.

Tito - Well we will learn alot after the fight tonight. I am reserving judgement until we see if the Bader fight was a flash in the pan or if he has re-invented himself. That being said a fight between these two would be a real grind it out event. I don't see Tito getting iced but I see this fight looking alot like the Chuck battles just with no stoppage. Historically speaking if Tito couldn't put you on your back he wasn't going to win.

Jones - He blasts Hendo out in 2 rounds. To dynamic, athletic and hungry.

Machida - always well prepared. Good cardio, very hard to take down and difficult to connect. The more I think about this fight the more I lean heavily to Machida. I just don't see Dan solving the standup of Machida or getting him down.

Forrest - I think Griffin is good at just about everything but not great at any one thing. I think Griffin wins this by outworking Dan. Lands smashing leg kicks, uses great foot work and wins a UD by mixing in the occasional take down.

I know what weight class they all fight at I'm just using Silva and Bisping because they are previous Hendo opponents and Hamill because he's the kind of fight at 205 that Hendo is just above.

After watching last night's fight he'd have to knock Rashad out to win that fight. He's not winning a decision.

I think he'd take Tito. I guess Forrest Griffin is pretty much the level I think Hendo is.

No chance against Jones, or Anderson in a rematch. Definite underdog against Rampage and imo Shogun too. Puncher chance. but otherwise loses to Machida and Rashaad.

Would ko Tito, Griffin is a pickem.

But he's as much chance right now of becoming UFC champ as David Haye has of becoming the Ring heavyweight champ. Unlikely.
