Thats not a wlesh thing, its called backing up your comments with facts, something as of yet you have failed to do.

I have this fight on my PC and I just played the last 6 rounds to see who exactly is telling the truth. For a guy with a busted hand Calzaghe is sure swinging away with it. There's no evidence that it was the busted hand that turned the fight around. It was more the fact that Reid adjusted to what Calzaghe was doing. I scored the fight a draw when I first saw it. And still do. The hand excuse is used for the fight being so close. And to try and justify not giving Reid a well deserved rematch. Calzaghe's groupies say a Reid rematch wouldn't of meant anything. How's that? The fight was very close. And Calzaghe didn't go on to fight a big name. He instead fought two bums in his next fights. Rick Thornberry and David Starie. The Starie fight was so awful that Showtime almost dropped Calzaghe themself. Calzaghe blames it on another busted hand. But yet goes on and fights Omar Shieka (premature stoppage) a couple of months later. Calzaghe's busted hand excuse is exactly that. A fucking excuse.

I just watched some fights of his, and was thinking he reminds me of an old school fighter. Just walks forward winging shots relentlessly. Its a fun style to watch, and im begining to like him, the fight with Byron Mitchell, that was like Hearns Hagler , just bombing on each other. He throws so many shots, I just wonder does he do that the whole fight? Ive only seen highlights of a few of his fights, and its just like he never stops punching. He does kind of lob his fists from the waist, but they look like the got some snap in em.

Its sad that Joe doesnt get the credit he deserves. But thats got a lot to do i think with his promoter and choice of opponents. 2 examples I can give is: (i) Sven Ottke - fought in his own country for years. Fought the same class of opponent every time and we never got ta see how good he could have been. (ii) Ricky hatton - probably could have stayed in england under warren and ended his career undefeated. Instead, broke away from warren and is bout ta fight castillo(huge fight). Wonder if joe would give Mundine a shot.....

Why would he need to do so? Calzaghe doesnt have an eating disorder.

    Even in 2007

No wonder Bernard ended up taking paycheques of smaller men. :P
A little bit cheeky, but I like it

ill do list for you mate
    bernard hopkins

    howard eastman
felix trinidad 40-0 at that time
    oscar dela hoya

    all risky fights

hopkins may of not had as many risky fights but eastman trinidad and oscar are twice as good as calzaghe opponents shame calzaghe wernt born few years later he would of been in era of benn eubank collins
Oscar was a risky right for hopkins? gimmie a brake the only risk of that was he might get screwed if it went the 12 - S*** i don't think oscar should of even held the belt to go into that fight, Sturm was screwed so HBO could get the hopkins v oscar fight IMO and even if he wasnt screwed he got through it by the skin of his teath!

Eastman i guess thats debatable, i never really rated him or thought to highly of him, but some do so thats fair enough i guess...

As for the 2 Viet fights you questiond, the first one veit was something like 28 or 29 and 0 coming into it, he was fairy highly thought of around europe, germanys next big hope (atleast the media were saying that) - the second fight he had to fight him or vacate.. for one there was no one else around worth beating, and two he only had the wbo belt, so vacating it would of been dumb.
I agree there, ODH was not a risk fight for B Hop, it was merely a huge paypacket. Why is it that Oscar didnt continue at middleweight? It was beyond him, thats why.

I dont rate Eastman all that highly on his resume either.

Taylor showed up Hopkins clearly in the second fight and Taylor is an extremely flawed fighter.

Im actually a big Hopkins fan, but its easy to dig at any opponents resume. And Calzaghe sure takes his share of digging. Of course to an extent it is justified, but some of it seems to border on obsessive and mania
