Just look at the direction where Martinez is going. Williams sees him going there and follows, but has absolutely no anticipation of that left following through from such a position. That is a crazy punch, just exquisite.

The more I watch it the more I can't believe that the ref is actually counting. What an idiot.....

I read a column that said Pacquiao and Mayweather want no part of Martinez after this fight. I don't see it that way. I think both of them would present problems that Martinez can't solve. Martinez would never have the opportunity to capitalize on the kind of exchange Martinez won on the Williams knockout, their balance is too good. Martinez is fast but both are faster, more accurate and more versatile. I wouldn't be surprised if either took the fight at 150.

I've noticed that right away on live telecast.

It was like watching a comedy sketch.

Re watched this AM and man, Martinez is a extremely thinking fighter. He just baited Williams all round with that left. Hit him with about 4 tenderizing him and then that last one....hellish!

I just re-watched it, and Martinez threw that exact same punch three times. The third was punch was the knock out. That old idiom "Third times a charm" come though again.

They would have to come up in weight because Martinez can't go below 156 plus part of the intrigue is Pacquiao (or Mayweather for that matter too) fighting for a title in yet another weight division. I just think Martinez would be a more difficult opponent for Manny than Shane (past it), Marquez (not effective above 135), and Cotto (already beat). Me personally, I'd rather see Manny fight Sergio than Berto or Bradley, and I think he'd get knocked out.

Just wanted to add that I was at this fight last night. My god what a punch. Poor Paul never seen it coming. From where my wife and I were sitting Williams back was to us but as soon as the punch landed he looked as if a tree had just gotten chopped down and it took him so long to hit the canvas. Everything seemed in slow motion. I am very pleased to think my wife and I are going to be at a knockout of the year candidate. What a fight and a great memory.

I was there too. It was a helluva knockout. My gosh.

On another note, Zsolt didn't look too amazing in there, right?

I didn't think he looked all that bad,but you could definitely see there was ring rust. A perfect tune-up fight I thought.

Yeah we were in Sergio's corner in the 210 section. I think it was Sergio's? The "blue corner" thats easier.

Another odd note. I didn't notice if anyone brought this up earlier. Any reason that Williams was introduced first ? Sergio was the champ I only can think of you other fight were that happenend and that was Cooney-Holmes.

That ref was shite. He had an air of Lawrence Cole about him.... Slapping on the back constantly! Far too involved in the action... In the end I was convinced I was watching a fight between 3 dudes!? Then BOOOM.

    I wasn't ready for it
