i still say de la hoya by decision but im not completely confident with the pick.

DLH needs something like that to happen IMO, I feel the odds a stacked to highly against him. He needs that sort of break to even things up. Don't get me wrong I'd love DLH to win but it ain't happening. Floyd may not put on a clinic but it'll be close...Originally Posted by CutMeMicK

i'm not saying Floyd hits as hard as B-Hop i'm just saying Oscars body aint all that resistant. The shot that hopkins landed looked pritty tame to me but Oscar still didnt get back up. I think Ocar was tired by then as he will be when he faces Floyd and yet again i believe he will lay down around round 9 -10
Have we figured out what the exact size of the ring is going to be?
Looks like Kenny Bayless has been assigned as the ref.
Bayless ain't to bad...Originally Posted by SweetPea

Ya I'm neither here nor there on Bayless..Originally Posted by galaxy76
I will say that I don't think the ref is that big of a deal in this fight. These guys are both clean fighters, they don't have a history of fouling, they don't butt heads a lot, etc.
Obviously, in a fight this big, everything is important, but this shouldn't be the type of fight where the ref plays a big role.

Bayless is fine I guess. I'm not to big on him because his counts are done at the very top of his lungs and he kneels beside a fallen fighter and that annoys me. Chuck Giampa and Jerry Roth have been chosen to judge the bout. Giampa and Roth both gave the Tito and Whitaker fights to De La Hoya, and the Whitaker one by a wide margin. But they also gave the first Castillo fight to Floyd by wide margins. Two of my least favorite Vegas judges. Don't know who the third judge is but I hope it's someone like Morett or Ross because Giampa and Roth make some questionable decisions on a regular basis.
Giampa didn't work the DLH-Tito fight. Roth scored it 115-113 for Tito.Originally Posted by amat
Tom Kaczmarek is the 3rd judge, I ain't got not real problems with any of them really.Originally Posted by amat

Was it Hamada that worked it then? Off on that I guess I'll have to check boxrec, was drawing from memory that one. I know they scored the Whitaker fight shit thoughOriginally Posted by SweetPea

Well ayliss may have his hands full because one of Oscar's tactics is to be rough for this fight right? Get close to Floyd and rough him up. You can see it from the 24-7 programme when Roach is telling Oscar to push him,and telling him not to stop until the ref breaks them up or something.
WhAt does everyone think we'll see from Floyd? The track meet from Baldo? Or some awesome boxing like the Corrales fight?
Floyd has a hell of a mean streak in him tooOriginally Posted by El Gamo
Floyd is a notorious CRAFTY fighter ...  Floyd will push off in the breaks with his forearm under Delahoyas nose and grind it in there.. Also he leaps in with the left hook and if he misses he pushes down the head with his forearm and just before the ref yells BREAK!!!! He hooks the guy to the head... All subtle CRAFTY little moves that rough up, tire out and slowly demoralize your opponent.. All the greats have somesort of subtleties to their repertoire
Ali did the samething with the forearm on the back of the head.He use to say that it wore down the opponents.I've seen Floyd lift his opponents head with his forearm and hit him(I think in the Bruseles and Gatti fights)Originally Posted by JT Rock
Comparing Hopkins to PBF is like comparing apples & oranges especially the fact that Hopkins is a middleweight & hits way harder! Oscar has fought tough competitors that hit him in the body so it will only slow him down but in no way end him!Originally Posted by ACEA
