You mean he whupped the best European fighters nobody has ever heard of. When it comes to beating obscure club fighters that nobody knows, Joe's the man.
It's not our fault that you guys hyped up Jeff Lacy and called him the Middleweight Mike Tyson, stuck him up on Billboards all over Super Bowl and then saw him get whooped by a lad from Newport

Who did Amercia have to offer fighting at Super Middleweight better than Lacy? NOBODY!! LMAO

It was a unification match and the universally recognized biggest fight the division could provide. Not our fault that with 5 times our population you still can't provide a decent challenger

Its just sad what has happened to Calzaghe's career. The guy should be a superstar, he's talented, he's fun to watch, and coming off the Lacy win he had a lot of momentum. And look we all KNOW Lacy sucks now, but a majority of people were picking him to win the fight. And now to keep up that momentum he's fought Bika and Manfredo. Maybe it is Warren's fault, but isn't Calzaghe at the point in his career where he has some say about who he fights, he's Warren's biggest star, he's gotta have some kind of control over his career.

I blame Joe entirely. You get treated the way you allow people to treat you and Joe has allowed FW to treat him and his career (and others) with contempt.

There comes a time when you have to think 'is it me?'

following the sport 2 weeks ? Shut up you prat !

I've followed Joe Calzaghe from the start and was ringside for 2 of his fights !!

Americans were wetting their pants over Jeff Lacy how he was the American saviour of boxing nearly every hack , every fan and anyone who wasn't a Joe fan backed him !!!!

    4-1 on favourite

Ring magazine had him on the pound for pound lists and ranked 1 at Supermiddle !!!

Unfortunately Joe was no respecter of reputations and took him to school its not that Lacy was that bad its just that Joe is that good .

So for those of you with memory loss and those of you who just can't believe that there is a British fighter thats better than your shower , get over it !!

You have to admit you were wrong !! All the know it alls and all the fans who believed he was the second coming of Tyson should either admit that

A, they dont know as much about Boxing as they thought they did
    or
B, that Joe is the best !

BY the way its Lacy not LACEY ,you boob.

This post is getting long in the tooth but it does show as i thought that some love Calzaghe / some hate him / but most boxing fans just think wot a waste of potential , i mean i dont like the guy but he has talent . I dont think he is a Roy Jones but loosing in great fights is no disgrace. [Picking oponants for your entire boxing life is . cheers Warren you dickhead !!!!!!!!

    Aye ?

Anyone who knows Joe knows he has bollocks bigger than Wales he'd walk to New York ( no swim ) to fight any of the so called top contenders

Joe has had injuries but i know he ooozes confidence and self belief like no fighter out there !

Comparing him to James Toney the laziest waste of talent of the last 15
    years .

    You are having a laugh
You are being facetious. Joe would've fought in the US by now if he'd wanted to. He likes to keep it in his back yard.

WTF are you on about. You're talking about Lacy aren't you

Lacy was never ever ranked above no 3 by the ring. Both Calzaghe and Kessler were ahead of him all the way.
I can understand it's easy to forget with the massive Lacy hype back then. But fact remains.

Nice to know that you have underwear with Joe Calzaghe's picture on them....Since you have been to two of his fights and all...Hey I was at two of Jimmy Thunder's fights does that make him one of the sport's best heavyweights of all time

As for Jeff's ranking at the time I don't believe Ring ever had him as the best super middleweight at that time or ever...I could be wrong but....And Yes there rankings are the only one's that count...

As for being upset because a British fighter is better than an American one that argument is weak and pathetic...This is boxing I can care less where the hell your from all I care about is if you can fight and do it with the conviction you claim to have...EG-To be an all time great you must fight the best out there...OH I am sorry should I statr throwing out names of people Joe has avoided?...Just kidding we all know the only reason Joe hasn't fought the best is his poor hand has a boo-boo come contract time

As for trying to make Joe look good by talking down about James Toney is a pitiful way to convince someone of your claims...Love Toney or Hate him say what you want fact is Calzaghe is no where near the accomplished fighter James is...Look up Toney's record S*** Head.....How many divisions has he fought in??...How Many titles has he won??....The Level of his comp blows out that of Calzaghe.....I suppose that Calzaghe is better than Roy Jones was at 168 also right??.....

Let's see ya make a valid argurment for that one.....

Or do you want to wait until you have been to 3 Joe Calzaghe fights and washed his trunks afterword first...

yeah it was coz of his hands that calzaghe never fought hopkins or rjj! oh now wait it was down to the fact they kept pricing thems elves out, aww

toney does have a lot of great things on his record, but one thing is for damn sure he has lost too, and almost lost to a number of guys who are far from impressive fighters IMO - the reason he has been in so many weight classes is because he is a fat son of a bitch, since when did becoming a lazy fat ass who had to keep moving up in weight coz he couldn't make the other become such a good thing?

Please... your evidence? I do not believe for one instance that on the strength of one fight not happening that Joe has been prevented from crossing the Atlantic. He likes to keep it in his back yard.

Joe Calzaghe is the greatest Super Middleweight ever. Joe would easily beat Hopkins, Jones or Toney, No Doubt!

    My thoughts on Joe

He fights at home - I have no problem with that, he is the champ.

He beat Lacy - let me rephrase he destroyed Lacy, showed that Lacy was overhyped AND that Joe had the goods.

Post Lacy - here is where I am dissapointed in him, doesn't fight Kessler instead fights Bika and Manfredo.

Being close to the end of his career, EVERY FIGHT MATTERS, he is wasting the paying public's and his own time with these fights. Bika OR Manfredo would have been ok, but not both IMO.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
