In the feature fight on the undercard, Fort Smith’s Andrew “Kid Thunder” Hartley put an exclamation mark on his promise to shut down and shut up debuting California lightweight Charlie “Russian Pride” Zelenoff. Zelenoff turned out to be a “lightweight” in more than just classification.
Zelenoff, who had called out Hartley in a series of profanity-laced Internet videos on YouTube and through other postings on BoxRec, lasted 1:14 into the first round before intentionally spitting out his mouthpiece for the third time. He drew a disqualification in the much bally-hooed showdown.
“He (Zelenoff) was shouting at me the whole time that Hartley was cheating,” said referee Tomlinson. “Unless the definition of cheating has been changed to ‘he’s hitting me too much,’ I didn’t see much merit in his complaint. I disqualified him for deliberately spitting out his mouthpiece.”

I was 67-3 as an amatuer. My father was always in the audience... I would never... I REPEAT NEVER neven THINK about spitting out my mouth piece... Even if the kid is cheating (which he wasn't) it's not your call. Especially as a "professional"... You owe it to the people in the crowd to put on a show.

In watching this I seriously can not even comment on the cowardice.

It takes a different kind to put on the gloves and get in the ring, headgear or not.

I'm proud to say I've been in there... People like this are just pitiful...

Does anyone think this is a case of Shit talking your way in way over your head.What started as a big mean-mugging episode turned into a big snowball effect and Charlie lost control of it all,Did he really have any intent on fighting in the first place?He just seems too dumb & unable to avoid not having followed along blindly and the next thing you know he's standing in the ring,no key boards,no cameras?Don't get me wrong....He let his mouth write a check his ass could not cash...thats on him totally.And Yea..It is pretty damn funny

Although it does support my theory that after 2 men hit each other in the face a few times you develop respect for one another. How many major conflicts could be solved with an old fashioned scrap
