    Aye ?

Anyone who knows Joe knows he has bollocks bigger than Wales he'd walk to New York ( no swim ) to fight any of the so called top contenders

Joe has had injuries but i know he ooozes confidence and self belief like no fighter out there !

Comparing him to James Toney the laziest waste of talent of the last 15
    years .

    You are having a laugh
You are being facetious. Joe would've fought in the US by now if he'd wanted to. He likes to keep it in his back yard.
so why did he sign a contract to fight hopkins in the US then if he didn;t want to fight there and only fight in his back yard? only for hopkisn to back out at this last minute? plz enlighten me as to why that happend! or why did he go to denmark and fight on a tyson undercard tot ry and build his name in the states?
Yeah fighting Will Mcintyre in Denmark was a real risk.

The explanation for this conclusion could be explained. But I am not wasting my time. The truth is this topic has been covered over and over with valid points on many sides coming to light. However the only reason this thread is 13 pages long is because of new ignorant members that the rest of us try to educate and fail at.

    Michael Nunn,,Merqi Sosa,,Reggie Johnson,,Mike McCallum,,Iran Barkley,,Charles Williams,,John Ruiz,,Sam Peter,,Hasim Rahman,,Evander Holyfield,,Vassliy Jirov,,Montel Griffin,,Earl Butler,,Roy Jones....and a few more....Thats a pretty impressive list...eve in his losses fact is Toney has been in there with everyone this era worth anything...

Joe has..Chris Eubank and not the good version,,Robin Reed,,Omar Sheika,,Jeff Lacey....Oh wait I forgot soon to be Peter Manfredo

Oh and bing fat and lazy over the years has managed to get him..Ibc and IBF middleweight,,IBF Supermiddleweight,,IBF inter continental USBA WBU lightheavyweight titles,,WBU IBO IBA IBF cruiserweight titles,,WBC continental IBA NABF and a breif moment as WBA heavyweight titles..

    Impressive for a lazy guy...

I am not a big James Toney fan this much is true but you have to give the man his credit and in no way can you compare what Joe Calzaghe has accomplished in his career with that of James Toney..

The best America has to offer? Jeff Lacey......I'm sorry you have been following the sport what 2 weeks now ...The best America has to offer...Think about what you just said
following the sport 2 weeks ? Shut up you prat !

I've followed Joe Calzaghe from the start and was ringside for 2 of his fights !!

Americans were wetting their pants over Jeff Lacy how he was the American saviour of boxing nearly every hack , every fan and anyone who wasn't a Joe fan backed him !!!!

    4-1 on favourite

Ring magazine had him on the pound for pound lists and ranked 1 at Supermiddle !!!

Unfortunately Joe was no respecter of reputations and took him to school its not that Lacy was that bad its just that Joe is that good .

So for those of you with memory loss and those of you who just can't believe that there is a British fighter thats better than your shower , get over it !!

You have to admit you were wrong !! All the know it alls and all the fans who believed he was the second coming of Tyson should either admit that

A, they dont know as much about Boxing as they thought they did
    or
B, that Joe is the best !

BY the way its Lacy not LACEY ,you boob.

Nice to know that you have underwear with Joe Calzaghe's picture on them....Since you have been to two of his fights and all...Hey I was at two of Jimmy Thunder's fights does that make him one of the sport's best heavyweights of all time

As for Jeff's ranking at the time I don't believe Ring ever had him as the best super middleweight at that time or ever...I could be wrong but....And Yes there rankings are the only one's that count...

As for being upset because a British fighter is better than an American one that argument is weak and pathetic...This is boxing I can care less where the hell your from all I care about is if you can fight and do it with the conviction you claim to have...EG-To be an all time great you must fight the best out there...OH I am sorry should I statr throwing out names of people Joe has avoided?...Just kidding we all know the only reason Joe hasn't fought the best is his poor hand has a boo-boo come contract time

As for trying to make Joe look good by talking down about James Toney is a pitiful way to convince someone of your claims...Love Toney or Hate him say what you want fact is Calzaghe is no where near the accomplished fighter James is...Look up Toney's record S*** Head.....How many divisions has he fought in??...How Many titles has he won??....The Level of his comp blows out that of Calzaghe.....I suppose that Calzaghe is better than Roy Jones was at 168 also right??.....

Let's see ya make a valid argurment for that one.....

Or do you want to wait until you have been to 3 Joe Calzaghe fights and washed his trunks afterword first...
yeah it was coz of his hands that calzaghe never fought hopkins or rjj! oh now wait it was down to the fact they kept pricing thems elves out, aww

toney does have a lot of great things on his record, but one thing is for damn sure he has lost too, and almost lost to a number of guys who are far from impressive fighters IMO - the reason he has been in so many weight classes is because he is a fat son of a bitch, since when did becoming a lazy fat a** who had to keep moving up in weight coz he couldn't make the other become such a good thing?

No one said Toney didn't lose to guys he should have beat or that Toney hasn't lost....Toney has also fought anyone willing to step in the ring from middleweight to heavyweight...

There were plenty on this site, and from the US side of the pond that had commented on Lacy's lack of defence, at times one dimensional style, lack of experience and tendency to get outboxed at times when he should have been turning it on....

It isnt ridiculous to think that Calzaghe had a possibility of winning
