'Stronger' Marquez eager to make up for lost time
By Steve D'Amato, Las Vegas Review Journal, Sat, 15 Mar 2008
Four years can be a long time to wait. But Juan Manuel Marquez is a patient man. That's how long it has taken Marquez to get another crack at Manny Pacquiao. Tonight at Mandalay Bay Events Center, the two boxers are expected to pick up where they left off on May 8, 2004, when their first fight ReviewJournal.com - Sports - 'Stronger' Marquez eager to make up for lost time

    - $3 million for Pac and $1 million for JMM.

    - Arum calling Beristain an idot.

    - If Marquez wins, there could be a trilogy on June 28 of this year.

I hope not . Win or lose I hope Pac fights someone else . Preferably in their 20's . Hes gotta stop rematching these old fighters and start building a legacy against young guns .

That idea came from Arum's demonic mind.

But I agree with ya. I think Pac should fight the younger David Diaz next. I want Pac to start capturing some belts dman it! "build legacy"

David Diaz is old aswel . Hes 30 something . I wouldnt mind if Pac fought the Diaz that was just beaten by Nate Cambell . That would make for a decent fight . Maybe Guzman cuz he doesnt look on the way down . This fight tonight will put finality on the trilogy of Mexicans . Even if Pac loses he should add other names to his record .

guzman is over thirty as well, plus jmm is still a lot better then he is. This is the correct match for pac. You can't really blame pac cause younger guys don't really want to step up to him. I give credit to solis, a young undefeated guy that actually fought him instead of just talking about it unlike valero. Juan diaz called him out but thats not really saying much cause juan is from the welterweights that went down to lightweight but challenges a featherweight (pacman).

Theres really no young guns to challenges him. Jaun has been expose, valero is still just all hype and....who else is there?

I don't no bro. I just want Pac start collecting some belts before he retires. D.Diaz, Guzman, Valero, Campbell, maybe CJ if he's got the balls to follow Pac @ lightweight... They all have belts and they're all beatables by Pac. Screw the Hatton and Dela Hoya idea.

It depends on how much can Pac assert his will early on I guess, conventional wisdom say Pac but JMM is that good to me its still a pikem fight.

Good luck Pacstraightleft for your boy and please don't do a runner if he loses unlike some others. the worst thing ever is to leave for months on end when one of your favourite fighter loses. Take a lesson frome me and if VD says anything we can double team and laugh on his face when Michael Katsidis gives Joel Cassamayor a one-sided beating

I don't know if you noticed this but, I was gone for about 4 months after Pac convincingly defeated Barrera. I had to take care of my aunt (my second mom) in the Philippines coz she lost her eyesight. She took care of me since birth, I owe her that much. But, hell yeah... I'll be here next sunday morning win or lose for Pac. Mark those words.

Don't count on it leftylee, Katsidis is a pretty one-dimensional fighter, and a slick fighter like Casamayor can embarass him. Better think of something else to keep Violent D 'happy'.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

Las Vegas, NV-Usually when two fighters engage a second time, there is a level of dominance by one man or the other. Rarely is the second time around a “close encounter” of the fistic kind.
