wow I didn't even know this fight had happened thought was in December.

So Molitor got exposed and beat up, shame I liked him a lot.

Maybe Cabbalero is a pretty good fighter after all, now with wins over Molitor and Ponce De Leon he has to be due a big fight.

I thik Vazquez and Marquez are gearing up for a 4th fight but I personally think if Cabbelero has a tough chin and stamina that he can beat Vazquez.

Against another tall, awkard fighter in Gonzalez Vazquez was losing every round until the half way point or so when Gonalez's stamina and suspect toughness failed him.

He's a great fghter but very very beatable imo, and Cabbelero could certainly be the one to do it.

Right now I'd like to Vazquez against Cabbelero more than Vazquez Marquez 4.

Jhonny should get another shot, he really is a solid fighter. If I was him I would try for a rematch with Penalosa, he was in the fight until that liver shot. If you look at his record 4 of his losses came real early on. He lost his first 2 and was in too soon against a vet, two times in a row. He was in a great fight with Vasquez, actually dropping him. Maybe he will fight Marquez, that would be another good one. I hope he gets some shots against these top guys in his division soon.

Vazquez IS the Undisputed Champion, no matter how many alphabet trinkets Caballero collects.

Im with you on wanting Marquez and Vasquez to seek alternates. Not much more to find out in a forth ,they have given us a sensational trilogy and many skipped heart beats.

Caballero looked at his awkward destructive best last night and forced the tempo from the start.Although with respect to Molitor,Steve did not show an inklen of an offence to blunt Cab. I do think Caballero has some huge defensive lapses that Vasquez can take advantage off.Vasquez is prone to damage as we've seen but his offense is up a notch through the Marquez fights.Against Gonzalez, who has a range similarity to Cab but is a better traditional up & down boxer with much better balance,he broke Gonzalez slowly, but had to walk threw some nice fluid combos.Vasquez mashed his nose up and his power broke through when it counted,Jhonny is plenty tough Bilbo .Cabs head stands high and he can be caught on the end of combos.Great fight that one would be,big size disparity but I think Izzy manages to get inside and do damage down the stretch...no pun intended...for a win.

Well I'm just comingback to my senses just now...

I went on a 2 day B-Day celebration drinking hoopala with friends...
My B-Day was on the 22nd.
I turned the big 21 if anyone cares.

4 (1.75L) bottles of Jack Daniels were done and dusted between myself and 2 good friends of mine. We also tore up 2 bottles of Johhnie Walker.

We played some records, hes got boxes full of wax and we just pulled out record after record listening to "Madness" My house, "Bowie" Changes, "Bowie" Lets Dance, Elton John "Bennie & The Jets", Peter Schilling, New Order, Depech Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, Cuttin Crew, B-Movie.
He had enough records for us to be playing there until next week

    Anyway...

Wow! I just saw the fight a while ago, Caballero came out gunz blazing. I think Caballero knew I thing that he did not want to let Molitor establish himself and CC did a great job at that he never let Molitor set himself. CC fought the perfect fight and that was his key to victory.

My next question is can CC continue this or will he have a lackluster follow up fight as he tends to do? He'll look good in 1 fight and then look like shit in the next one?

I think CC beats both Izzy and Rafa because I honestly think both guys are touched up already and are there for the taking.

All in all and top win for CC.
For Molitor he needs take his well deserved vacation and then comeback stronger then ever, the kids full of talent and it wasn't his night.

I've thought for a while that Caballero was underrated cause he doesn't look like a fighter, he's real awkward, and even just look at him he's 6'0 he's got the Oscar armpit shorts and he even added a knee brace.

I'm not sure I would say this was a surprise like some are, Caballero was the clearly more accomplished guy going in.

The worst part about the fight for, aside from Molitor being outclassed, was that he showed a very questionable chin. I'd like to hear your thoughts on that. I thought Molitor was clearly hurt, both to the body and to the head, by nearly every clean (and some not so clean) punch that Cab landed. That has me most concerned for his future.

Agreed, I'm not shocked at the win by CC.

But I surely thought Molitor would win and do better then what he showed.

I thought it would either be Caballero overwhelming him or Molitor making Caballero follow him around, lunge a bit and get out boxed and it turned out the first way. I picked Caballero but it was pretty close to a 50/50 thing, would not have been surprised by a Molitor win.

CCs a hard puncher and anyone that gets caught is certain to get hurt even stopped. I dont think Molitor has a questionable chin.

More then anything Molitor did not establish his game plan from the start which was get inside. Instead Molitor stayed at a distance where CC is most effective.

Caballero was so much stronger, there were times when Molitor would try to clinch and Caballero would just toss him off.

I'm not sold on his chin anymore, 3K Battery dropped him and he was hurt by every punch Cab hit him with. PDL was able to last 12 with Cab while taking more clean shots than Molitor did.

Maybe I'm just pessimistic because one of my favorite fighters got absolutely destroyed, but I think any of the top guys in the division are going to be able to hurt him badly after watching this fight.

Only thing that surprised me about this fight was the early stoppage. I thought Molitor would at least make it to the late rounds. But that's it. To me this fight was a mismatch. Caballero looked outstanding in beating an A level fighter in former champion Lorenzo Parra. Molitor looked good in beating an obscure C level fighter in Dario Labarda. To me Molitor is a decent fighter. But I saw nothing in him that would beat Caballero. To me the way to beat Caballero is with power. Molitor has none. He never had a chance

Molitor was in survival mode from the first bell. Every punch seemed to hurt him. He had good movement but he stayed on the outside and paid dearly. Molitor wasn't even ko'd by flush shots. His chin seemed pretty shaky.
